The Game of Thrones theme is the thing I like LEAST about the show. God, the same four notes, OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OV--

Jesus. If you like it, that's wonderful, but OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER...

Yeah its no masterpiece of originality but as far as ambiance and setting the mood goes it works for me. It really doesn't take much complexity to set a mood. Usually the simpler the better. Also I wasn't trying very hard when I chose those, in my haste I just wanted to pick a couple examples to kick the thread off without setting the bar too high.

John Carpenter's themes are a good example Pinback. You'll really hate this one for it's simplicity and repetiveness but it's one of my favorites.

And my other favorite from the Carpenter collection...

It actually starts at 10 seconds. I hate it when youtubers add their own shit to the beginning of something that should be treated like a historical artifact and not pissed on like a dog marking its territory. Anyway, it was the best quality one I could find.

You asked what's your FAVORITE, and have now listed, by my count, every single theme song from every show and movie ever made.

Your FAVORITE, Garth. PICK ONE.

I know I'm a terrible example of Jolt Country etiquette for not adhering to my own implicit rules. I am prepared to face the consequences. I have given myself one demerit per video. On the other hand I could just say I meant it to be taken plurally, it could be read either way. Come to think of it I don't think I've ever had just one favorite of anything. But it's ok, I have plenty more demerits where those came from. ;)

Wait, that Captain Scarlett was a fake television show, right? I mean, nobody would actually show that on broadcast TV right?

All too real my friend, all too real. lol. It's British. It was during that brief period when Supermarionation was cutting edge special effects. There were a few other shows competing for attention. In 2004 the creators of South Park, Baseketball and Orgasmo decided to craft a tribute slash parody of Thunderbirds, another one from that era.

I didn't really notice it when I watched it years ago because you mostly just hear bits of the song and not much lyrics when you watch the film but it also seems to parody that mindless unconditional sort of blind patriotism that causes people to defend the government no matter what they do. So yeah. No... Fuck yeah! :D (oh btw the man song from the end credits of Orgasmo is so freakin hilarious with total overthetop 80's style action movie machismo)

Anyway, back to unearthing long lost pure retro gold. Anyone remember this little gem?
