Despecialized versions

Did anyone know these existed?

Blu-ray quality versions of Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi in their original theatrical release versions. All the Lucas changes have been painstakingly removed by this Fan guy named Harmy.

I immediately deleted my VHS and DVD rips and stuffed these versions into my video server.

Some things don't need to be improved, technical mistakes or overall background ambiance.

Harmy released v2 of the De-specialized Editions (starting with Star Wars) in October: it makes the previous versions (embodied in TESB & ROTJ) look dated.

Anyway, you can still up for a newsletter that posts updates about the releases at http://originaltrilogy.us7.list-manage. ... db05a53eb0 and the thread that talks about the new release of Starwars is at http://originaltrilogy.com/forum/topic. ... Post663606

Obiwan's lightsaber in the battle scene when Darth Vader strikes him down in Star Wars is decolorized in Harmy's release.

I know it was this way in the originals, but it always felt odd that you could essentially see the prop they were using and while I fully applaud his attention to detail, this is one of the few things that should have been corrected in later releases.
