Terminators.

With the wife and daughter out of town last weekend, the boy (9) and I ended up watching Terminator, Terminator 2, and Terminator 3.
I was afraid that the first one would give him nightmares, but he laughed at the special effects and said they were silly. "That's obviously a blue screen," he said at one point.
He really liked T2. Really I just wanted him to see T2, but I didn't want to spend half an hour explaining what was going on, which is why I made him watch T1.
Halfway through T3, he got up and left to go play basketball.
What do/did you think of the Terminator movies? Are you excited about #5 and the return of Arnold?

1. Overrated, but okay.
2. Would be excellent, except Eddie Furlong is the worst "actor" to ever appear onscreen, including Ron Jeremy. As a result, it's only very good.
3. Underrated, and includes one of the most amazing extended action sequences in movie history (the crane chase).
4. Pretty goddamn bad. The worst of the four.
I am not excited for any further Terminator movies.

The crane scene is indeed amazing. It's the T2 chase scene on steroids, for sure.
I had forgot about how bad the soundtrack to T1 was. I guess it was close enough to Bladerunner where every sci-fi thriller needed the same soundtrack (BEEP BOOP BOOP BOP BEEP BEEP BOPPO).
I haven't heard what the plot of T5 is going to be yet (maybe it's about how the Terminator goes around making babies with his housemaids ...). After watching T1-T3, the theme is "there is no fate" and "Skynet will eventually fuck you in the bootie hole". Even in T2, when they blew up CyberDyne, the war still happened in T3. I haven't seen T4, but I'm not sure where the story could go in T5.

Pinback, wasn't Eddie Furlong good in "American History X"?

Shit, I just caught the BOOP BEEP comment. Did you have the sound on for Cryptozookeeper at all? I am not offended if the answer is no, I didn't write the music, I only picked it. Is that stuff to BEEPY and BOOPY? I mean, I ain't gonna change it, but still.

He was good a few years ago in "Bloated Public Intoxication".

Maybe it's because I grew up listening to .MOD files (and SID songs before that), but I didn't mind the music at all. In fact, I'd say it's leaps and bounds above the T1 soundtrack.
I was going to ask, why is Crypto so big? Those MOD files are pretty small, right? Is it all the pictures?
