Dear Robb,

On July 26th we sent you an NFL SUNDAY TICKETâ„¢ auto-renewal confirmation with the incorrect price.

The email should have stated that your account will be charged six payments of $49.99 each instead of six payments of $44.99 each for the renewal of NFL SUNDAY TICKETâ„¢.

We apologize for any confusion or inconvenience this may have caused.

Thank you for your understanding and we appreciate your business.
These desperate, greedy fucks. Holy shit. God, I hate professional sports. It's amazing, just how greedy they are. OH GOD IT WAS GONNA BE $270 NOT $300!!! Better get an e-mail out.

I'm paying it, but honestly, this is the first year where I'd have to ask if it's worth it. I don't have HD, but I can get HD feeds off Usenet a day later.

But my team won the Super Bowl and I think they're gonna win it again. (I just didn't want to be the asshole who now never bets against his team in the playoffs, thus the title.) So it's on. Oh - it's another $100 if you want to watch the games in high definition. Such a bunch of fucking horseshit. That I do not get.

Call up and bitch. They are routinely giving it to people for $180 instead of $300. Either way, it's worth it to me. I'd spend way more than $200 or $300 at bars over the course of the season to watch even half of the Bills games.

You're right, of course. I guess the thing that bugs me is the incremental greed.

IF they had said, years ago, "this is $300, deal with it," then OK.

If they threw in the HD feed for free, that'd be OK.

But it seems each year they ask for a little bit more and treat us like frogs in the boiling pot. That makes no sense unless you are aware of frogs in the boiling pot. BUT STILL.

And God, Vark... the Saints kicked the shit out of everyone last year. Even the two games they lost where they had their starters in, they were alive on the last drive (Dallas) and missed a FG that would have tied it up (Tampa Bay). I've never seen a team like that before. It IS worth the money, it really is. I just... I just hate the transparent, slimeball tactics Directv uses, you know?

So, wait, with this thread title, are you predicting that the Baltimore Brown Ravens of Cleveland will beat the Minnesota Football Vikings in the 2011 Supa Bowl?

I don't want to be the guy picking his team to repeat as Super Bowl Champs. I also don't think they'd ever lose if they got to the Super Bowl, so this seems like a good compromise. Take a good AFC team that certainly isn't a sleeper, and predict that they hold the Favre-led Vikings to three fucking points.

Or, do they meet in the regular season? I'm also willing to throw it down as my prediction for a regular season matchup as well.

Haha, I wasn't sure that was Delhomme at first, but then it ends with him whining to the official. Ha ha ha!!

I also regret picking the Vikes to go to the Super Bowl because I hate them so much. I also regret that.

Hey Jonsey, I just realized we have something in common. You guys (you're a St. Louis fan, right?) got Sam Bradford from OU! Woo hoo, we'll have lots of old memories to share the first time he gets sacked and is out for the season ...

I am a Saints fan. :(

Our kicker is from Oklahoma, however. ALLOW ME TO, TO, TO:

So with Sidney Rice out for a while and Percy Harvin dead, according to the early-morning alert I received, are you changing this pick?

The Saints aren't even my team, and that Hartley kick clip still gets me hard.

Yes. New Orleans 51, Miami 0. Revenge for the "let's hit Ricky Williams literally five yards out of bounds and give him a high ankle sprain his rookie year because he took an incentive-laden contract." HOWEVER, in a twist of fate that doesn't make any sense to anyone, Ricky Williams is given a high ankle sprain by a member of the Saints five yards out of bounds in the Super Bowl. No sense can be made of this!*

* If Bill Simmons wrote that sentence, it would be, "Try to make some sense of that. You can't. You can't do it. You were getting nervous."

I thought we all liked Sam Bradford. I'm confused now. He's OK in my book! He's A-OK!

He's a good guy and one of the best quarterbacks OU has seen in a long time (maybe ever), but here's the reality.

After winning the Heisman during his sophomore year, he should have just entered the NFL draft and got rich. He didn't though. Instead, he came back as a junior and everybody was like, "BUT WHAT IF YOU GET HURT???" So on his first game as a junior ... he got hurt. Then he came back a few weeks later and got hurt again (see the above clip) which put him out for the year. So at least to us, it was like the guy passed up an opportunity at the NFL and instead got himself hurt and potentially lost a career in the NFL and a lot of money.

Fortunately the Saints don't seem to mind that the last two times the guy got sacked (which were also his last two games), both times ended up in shoulder surgeries.

GO SAINTS!!

Well, I figured out why everyone hates teams that win the Super Bowl. I want to note that I haven't seen a commercial since the last time NFL football was played. But man, they certainly made up for it tonight. And one thing was everywhere: SAINTS COMMERCIALS.

They were IN commercials. There were commercials ABOUT them. Sometimes the entire thing was Saints-based, sometimes they'd only appear at the end. But it was Saints, Saints, Saints.

Now, on one hand there's 40 years of recorded NFL football where nobody gives two shits about them. So I don't feel bad for you. On the other hand, they don't need to be in every single 30-second ad.

I managed to hate ad people even more. I didn't care if it was possible, but I didn't think it was possible. "Oh, those Saints, get them in this commercial about dog food / fried chicken / portable Tsar Bombs."

Sorry, everyone. It began tonight. The nationwide loathing of my favorite team.

If I started a collection to buy you a Saints jersey that said "ICE CREAM BREESEY", would you wear it?
