The following are blog comments on liberal disaster the Seattle Post Intelignece after articles on Charles Barkely and Lofa Tatupu getting DUI's

http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/soundoff/ ... eID=363182
The following are the comments on the article about Leroy Hill getting arrested after being found stoned and asleep at the wheel
http://blog.seattlepi.nwsource.com/seat ... 160471.asp
In case you dont want to wade through it all, the two DUI (alcohol related) articles resulted in THROW THE BUMS IN JAIL, and a bunch of morons crying about relatives killed by drunk drivers and quoting the phony drunk driving statistics. Also how they have no respect for the athletes anymore. In both cases the drivers were pulled over for minor traffic offenses.
The article about the athlete being stoned and PASSED out at the wheel resulted in 20 comments of legalize pot and no biggie.
I could care less, 99% of DUI's are bullshit, but it was funny to me that the culture in the shitty city is- awake and slightly drunk behind the wheel should result in loss of employment and being put behind bars. Stoned out of your gord and passed out behind the wheel should result in.... pot being legalized.
In fairness to Leroy Hill, after being found passed out at the wheel with weed in his car the Georgia Police found no reason to conduct a field sobriety test. I guess im moving to Georgia tommorow!

Oh, he fell asleep at a stop light. It is totally retarded, because these people would have the a negative response if a trucker who wasn't high on pot fell asleep and killed a bunch of people on the road, but if he was high on pot they'd be quick to point out that ganja is as harmless as filtered water.

I really do not care. Pot should be legal in the first place.
Is it any suprise what <i>this guy</i> thinks about this?
Yeah, Seattle is all about pot it's true. You can literally buy the shit right at the public <s>tourist trap</s> market. The police are under orders not to arrest people for possession, they can only factor it in with other crimes. If you get caught smoking in one of the parks, all they can do is give you a ticket that says "stay out of the park for xxx amount of time". I don't think a day goes by when I don't either hear it talked about on one of the radio shows or even here in the office. It doesn't make it easier to quit, that's for sure.

I've never tried it and I am too old to start now. But Jesus Christ, legalize it and get some tax revenue for it. With the worst economic conditions in years, why not try something new. If it means that I-270 somehow gets re-paved (and by the way... calling my own shot... that highway is gonna collapse in the next five years, not that I won't stop taking it) then what do I care.
Employers can still test for it and make their own decisions and it doesn't affect the lives of 99% of all Americans in any way. Through the tax fnds generated I may not find myself hurling off the edge of a crumbling overpass. Yaay, hooray, another problem solved.

Wait, what? Denver is a shitty city? Denver's fine. We've had a part of one highway crumble recently with cars on it (I-25 last year) and 270 is headed that way. All the other highways are fine.
There is a light rail already built and it apparently works fine. I will always take a car to work because I'm already at this place ten hours a day, and I'm not going to spend an hour and a half light railing home each way on top of it.

no, no, your brother said Seattle's a shitty city. He's right that Seattle is cursed with an overabundance of nanny liberalism though.
Top things liberals got wrong here in Seattle:
1) decided ten years ago not to use salt on the hilly roadways in snowstorms to save salmon who live half their lives in salt water.

2) let homeless and mentally ill roam streets in large numbers. I'm saying we need some Guillianni type enforcement of vagrancy laws here.
3) liquor taxes are out of fucking control
4) who is the liberal fag that decided that $8 an hour minimum wage should apply to restaurant servers? Great, now I can pay more to eat at restaurants with extra shitty service.

Wasn't that because of a water main break?

It ... was! I guess that's not strictly a crumbling infrastructure story. I owe this BBS one (1) crumbling infrastructure story.
Time to load up Sim City 2000!
