You people are all missing the brilliance of this MP3. It is not one, but TWO Nickelback songs. But... really... it is only one nickelback song. Two megaselling singles from two completely different albums, different lyrics, same instrumentation. Completely.

What's great about this is the bassist's pathetic attempt at saving face: "When you're a band like us or ACDC that has a distinctive style, you run the risk of that happening. If all hits sound the same, then sorry."

DISTINCTIVE STYLE! What the fuck are you talking about? Yeah, they're, uh, Nickelback. With the crunchy guitar wall, punchy (yet warm!) drums, an invisible bassist and vocals that express the deep profoundity of the lyrics with a good helping of wisky-grit. Yes, they are clearly big inovaters in sounding different from everyone else there.

Even more hilarious is the worthless maggot of a publicist trying to deflect criticisms by saying "They are *NOT* the same song! How DARE you! The vocal line is completely different! The only thing that's the same is the guitar line or the number of choruses." Or the number of verses. Or the length of the verses. Or the length of the choruses. Or the drums or the placement of all the dynamic shifts or the length of the ENTIRE SONG or every other aspect of the piece of music that what us music college nerd type people commonly refer to as THE PIECE OF MUSIC... and by "or", I mean and.

He's right, though, the lyrics are sung totally differently... and Someday was originally down one holestep. So totally different songs. Yes. What WAS I thinking.

I am not missing the brilliance of this! I simply did not see this thread the first time around!

(Of course, neither did you.)

Yeah, I had heard the Nickleback thing a while ago. I didn't want to post that, because I wanted other people to hear and enjoy.

They really are talentless and insipid. People say that about bands they don't like, which makes it lose its sting, but in this case it's demonstrably true.

The best part is when someone shoved a mic in front of their mouths and the guy -- can't remember if it's the singer or guitarist -- comes back with, "Hmm, ah, yes, it's interesting, isn't there? That there is a 'hit quality' that songs can have, and,".

I don't remember the exact quote, but he did use the phrase "hit quality." It's not that Nickleback just regurgitates the same forgettable slop, it's that their songs just have this amazing x-factor of being hits! What a bunch of fucking hacks.

I like those 2 songs :( Of course, if you like one, I guess it's a foregone conclusion you'd like the other.

A friend of mine actually rather likes one but hates the other one. Reason #69105 why I will never understand females.
