Jesus Christ. Rickey Jackson was like the third best player on that list. Well, except Tagliabue, who had like 150 sacks and 14 picks in a year that one season (????). The fuck is Tagliabue going up against players for. This is retarded.
Russ Grimm?? If you had asked Joe Gibbs if he would have traded Russ Grimm for Rickey Jackson when they were in the prime of their careers, Gibbs would have made the deal before you could spit the "mmmm" out in Grimm and drafted a replacement for Grimm in the 4th round the next season. (And then beat the Broncos or Bills by 40 instead of 30. I ADMIT his teams were stacked anyway.)
This is just retarded.
Hope Andre Reed, Derrick Thomas and Darrell Green get in. If the football HoF were like the baseball HoF, by the way, the only player in that list who makes it is Green.

Monk was arguably one of the three best wide receivers ever, behind Jerry Rice and the 2008 version of Randy Moss during their first game against the Dolphins this year. How can you say that?
HOW, Senator, can you say that?

I would put the following receivers ahead of Monk:
- Jerry Rice
- Don Hutson
- Steve Largent
- Randy Moss
- Terrell Owens
- Lynn Swann
And you can make a case for many others. So I DENY that he is the third best receiver of all-time.
Furthermore, he only made the Pro Bowl 3 times.
On the other hand, he played a lot of games with quarterbacks that would make you snicker if one of your friends had to watch them play for a whole season, becahse he was on their team.
On the other hand, he was on three Super Bowl winning teams (and four total, right?), even though one was in a season where they only played 9 games and a kicker was MVP for the year.
On the other hand, through many years of his career, in his prime, he was not the leading receiver on his team.
...
Well, let's break it down scientifically. They have to put five guys in, so I'd go (of the people offered, in no order):
Cris Carter
Darrell Green
Randall McDaniel
Andre Reed
Derrick Thomas
SORRY ART! Art is honestly the sixth best guy IMHO on the ballot this year. He'll probably get in over Derrick Thomas though, so enjoy having two more Hall of Fucking Famers. I still got to root for ZERO growing up.

::I still got to root for ZERO
This is actually true. There are no Blue Jays or Saints in the Halls of Fame...s... (??) (sic?)
There are three Flyers players, but their primes were when I was like two.
Do I think I had the misfortune to watch a lot of bad teams? No, I think it's a FUCKING SCREW JOB.

Suck my dick.
Maybe you and sports need a break, because it turns you into a person into whose mouth I feel the pulsing desire to defecate and then urinate and then defecate yet again.

That's your reaction? Suck your COCK? Great argument, Occam. I'm completely convinced.
If you want to make the case for Art Monk, ASSHOLE, you do it as follows:
- #1 receiver on three Super Bowl winning teams
- #3 receiver in yardage all-time when he retired (not his fault the asshole voters made him wait so long)
- Fuckin' FIRST all-time in receptions when he retired
- Go look this up, but I think he was the first guy to get 100 catches in a season
- Played before the fantasy football era, so the only way to make him NOT look like a candidate is to put him up against guys who played 20 years later, which even baseball writers know not to do
There. Art Monk. Hall of Famer.
Derrick Thomas is dead, you know, so that's why I picked him first for my (fake) ballot.

Whilst you continue to suck it, consider this:
ART MONK can be rearranged to spell:
Not Mark!
Arm Knot!
Rank Tom!
Monk Rat!
Kn-- HEY!! YOU STOPPED SUCKING IT! DID I SAY TO STOP SUCKING IT!?? Now you SUCK IT, and do not stop until I tell you to, or it has become otherwise obvious that it is time to stop.

Cris Carter, Darrell Green, Ray Guy, Bob Kuechenberg and Andre Reed would be my votes. Guy and Keuch will be dead soon because NFL players live to an average age of 43. Get them in.

Fred Dean, Art Monk, Darrell Green, Andre Tippett, Gary Zimmerman and Emmitt Thomas made it. Hopefully this clears the way for more deserving candidates next year.

not to become the sabermetrics football fag, but putting Ray Guy in the hall of fame is the equivelent of putting a QB in the HOF that can consitently throw the ball further than everyone else (Michael Vick). When Guy played two stats were publicly kept. Number of punts and Yards. I wonder how often Guy really pinned them back. I think the perception of Guy is- a punter who kick really far, stuck with a team that made the playoffs every year and was on TV a lot.
Maybe I am overcomplicating punting. But punters who tend to just punt it really far tend to let up lots of huge returns and lots of touchbacks. Ray Guy is no HOFer.
