I always thought it was kind of humorously ironic that RAtM has profited grossly off the same system they claim to be rebelling against.
Although I do like the music.

Good music, horrible and repetitive songwriting. Which did get better on later albums. Buit the 'reunite for a day/week/tour' is just a cash-grab.

Yeah, and
your favorite death metal is eloquently written, meaningfull, and
NON REPETITIVE. OK.
1. Into The Lungs Of Hell
Christ burned me with his eyes
But I'm still alive
Welcome to the lungs of hell
Frost or fire, whatever you desire
Collector of souls, captor of sin
I'm not alone, I suck every soul
Into the lungs of hell
Collector of souls, captor of sin
I'm not alone, I suck every soul
Into the lungs of hell
All you need is a graveyard of souls
And grieveous sins untold
Into the lungs of hell
Hear the sound of the demon bells
All yu need is a graveyard of souls
And grieveous sins untold...
Some is, some isn't. Were you making a point?
You are the Warcult, timebomb intellectual.
But hey, since I own this album, I put it in the player and looked at the lyric book. Hmmm, seems track 1 is, indeed, an intro song, as most black metal bands do with track 1, and almost all the rest of the songs have about 3 times as many lyrics and are much faster.
You are the Warcult, you are the shit for brains.
However, if I had to review God Dethroned, I'd say they haven't tried as hard to write a good song since 'Ravenous' and they're now on my 'listen before buying' list. They have the opposite problem then RATM: ok lyrics, in a genre in which lyrics are not supposed to be heard clearly (opposite of radio rap, in which we come out shockingly against things like 'racism', and say the same chorus 15 times per song, occasionally including a stanza or 2), but the songwriting could be better, too much filler in some of these later albums.
You are the Warcult, the poison in your brain.

Nope, not repetitive at all!

I don't get how a repeated riff or maybe going through all lyrics twice are even in the same league as a band whose lyrics sheet says:
repeat 15x
for almost every song. Besides, I don't tend to like repetitive metal bands, either.
Would anyone else who has never listened to the song, or all the way through any single black metal album like to give their worthless opinion?

What are you talking about?
Killing In The Name
------
Summa those at-work forces
Are the same that burned crosses
(repeat x4)
Killing in the name of
(repeat x2)
Now ya do what they told ya
(repeat x12)
Those who died are justified
by wearin' tha badge and ya chosen white
(repeat x4)
(repeat all of above x2)
fuck you I won't do what ya tell me
(repeat x16)
motherfucker

Oh dear, the leeter-than-thou because I've been in punk-funk-ska-core-bluesy-jazzy band with some hip-hop elements trump card. Yawn. As if either one of us couldn't name 1,500 bands the other hasn't heard of. As if I neither of us has ever traveled thousands of miles for a concert or festival. You were in a band, I had a radio show and a club night. Whoop-de-shit.
Black metal fucking rocks.

I also had a radio show. And a club night, too. I win.
I'm better than the sysop's girlfriend. Ohhhhhh, that's a dis...... Sorry, I meant MY sysop's girlfriend.

A coworker has expressed concern that this performance will hurt Chris Cornell's feelings.
My opinion is that Chris is doing his own solo project in between Audioslave gigs, and is secure enough in his career anyway, that this event will not, in fact, hurt his feelings.
We are not yet sure, however, whether Zack De La Rocha's feelings are currently hurt that his old band is mega-famous now and he hasn't done anything since he quit.
So, to sum up, as of this writing, it is not believed that anyone involved or associated with the project's feelings are currently hurt.
