Coming through Colorado for GET LAMP

Hello, everyone.
Jonesy, I'm coming through Colorado to shoot GET LAMP at the end of this month, the weekend of the 26th-28th of January. Let's try and assemble the troops and let me know of people I should be interviewing. (You're a given, of course.)

Oh, cool! Looking quite forward to it. I'm psyched!
Paul O'Brian is a walking text game encyclopedia, but I presume that you have his contact information. Man, offhand I am not sure if there are other IF people in the Colorado / Wyoming area. We tried to make a mental list we gave that presentation last year and ended up with just the two of us.
If you are flying in, I would be happy to pick you up from the airport. I live in a town called Thornton, which is sort of close to DIA. (They built the airport away from everything, so "sort of" close is as close as anyone is.) Also, we have a spare bedroom you are more than welcome to for your trip.
Yeah, let me shoot you a mail with my contact info. And thanks once again for stopping by out here for this. I imagine that Paul is just as crazy about this documentary as I am.

I was meaning to dig up the BBS documentary thread just to mention how much I enjoyed watching it the other week. Actually couldn't go to sleep one night until I had watched them all.

It is very important that a boxed copy of Necrotic Drift be in shot during the Interview. It has my face on it.

I can't remember which thread it was in, but there was the thing about ND having a VGA card as a joke requirement.

Yeah, regretting that.
Here's the update on that: There are three versions of ND. 1.00, 1.01 and 1.02.
1.02 is the one people have been playing forever. It could use some more scenery, but geez, what IF game couldn't.
1.00 is the original release. Chris Freemesser actually found a bug in that version where you could manipulate the fight with the ghast and not chuck his head in the end.
I had no data on 1.01. If I remember right, it only existed for a prototype hardcopy I did through Mixonic.com.
Well, a friend of Dayna's that had never played IF before came over (as I mentioned in that other thread) and I grabbed a hard copy of ND off the shelf for her. As it turns out I put the prototype on the shelf to display
because 1.01 has a game-killing bug in it.
I verified that it's not there for 1.02 and this person is the only person who ever saw that version and that bug... but still. Man, what a pain.
So I am getting her a proper copy and restoring her save file. The story has a happy ending, but I am seemingly doing everything possible to mess up new players to IF. I should be shot to stop myself before I go further.
What a Great Time!

Ooooh those came out nice. The Ms. Pac-Man joystick is sharp. Also, Xenophobe got the Nice-Picture-Treatment! Oh, Xenophobe. I really don't deserve him. (I don't deserve kitties that cute either, but that's this whole other thing.)
Thanks again for everything and I hope you had as good a time while you were out here as we did. It was a lot of fun to do the interview. I hope my near-future evangelizing of the experience helps convince anyone else on the fence for this thing to dive in.

Yeah, and I'm not as ugly as those pictures indicate. Confidential to J-Scott, yeah, let people know if their pics are going on the internet, and give them some veto power.

All right. Time for a REPLY O RAMA!
There are no pictures of my Atari cart waaaaaah.
Yes. Sorry. This would be because I am a jerk. I'd like to say an accidental one, and it's because I forgot it is not immediately clear that your game is a text one and I am too wrapped into it to remember otherwise. Sorry. Bruce made an Atari 2600 text game called
Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring and I have it above the fireplace next to the Saints helmet. It (the game) is one of the coolest things I have in my possession because, seriously, it's the one LOTR game where I can tell what's going on in the screen.
There is no way to tell that this is a text game by looking at the cartridge and I should have said, "Hey!!!! This is Thornton's text Atari game!" instead of saying what I mostly said instead, which was, playing the odds, "um." Sorry.
On the other hand, I have not stolen any of your thunder, Bruce, when you get interviewed. Argh. Sorry.

First off, you look fantastic and it is my job to make you feel that way each and every day and I obviously failed here. Sorry. I was under the impression that I had shared some of the photo links with you at some point, but because I have the kind of memory that has me repeating stories in a 24 hour period to my co-workers, I can't remember anything at all, effectively. Sorry. I seriously don't know what to do to improve my memory, but I started telling a co-worker about Lyons arcade today because I thought it was Monday and it was time to discuss the weekend. Sorry. To my co-worker, I mean. Nothing is more aggravating than hearing the same shit from someone carrying themselves like Guy Pearce in Memento. Sorry.
(You know, I've thought it over and Guy Pearce is still my favorite male porn name. Sorry, sorry.)

Sorry... actually, I'm not sorry for
shit on this one, the name of the documentary is motherfucking
and I'm there having obviously gotten a goddamn lamp. Language, language, I know. I'm trying to work less blue. Sorry.

Every thread around here with more than 10 posts turns into a debacle. I'm sorry. The usual suspects haven't even chimed in yet so let me apologize for their very presence ahead of time: Sorry.

Didn't mean to sound bitchy there, but at certain times of the month, certain things happen to women's faces that are rather embarrassing. Hey, a week from now I would've probably been very comfortable with it.
