[TigerCast 2006] PGA Championship

We here at TigerCast Productions have had a wonderful ride these past ten years. Wins have piled up as quickly as our dirty laundry, and the thrill of victory has never lost a touch of its sweetness.
But we here at TigerCast Productions have to admit, after watching the front nine of today's final round of the PGA at Medinah, that this was the first time in our history that we felt a pang of sorrow for the competition.
Because friends, this was frightening. We've been through 12 major wins and 51 PGA Tour victories, but this was the most brutal, "relentless" (- David Feherty) display we've ever seen.
The movie "Saving Private Ryan" is known for its gut-wrenching first 20 minutes, but for us, the most emotionally charged moment is late in that segment, when a medic is working, on Omaha Beach, trying to save a wounded soldier, and while he's working on him, the Germans shoot him (the patient) in the head. The medic turns to look up at the German bunker and yells, "Give us a fucking chance!"
That is all we could think about today when, over the course of the first 8 holes, Tiger came on the course in a hotly contested major, and essentially shot everyone in the head while they were being worked on by medics.
The other contenders spent the previous evening talking to reporters about how "his streak [of winning while leading or holding a share of the lead] has to end sometime" and "the pressure's really on him".
Right.
By the end of the first hole, it was over. The rest of the front nine featured Tiger essentially kicking them all while they were down, then punching them in the face while they were down, then torturing and executing their families while they were down, then dismembering and eating them while they were down.
It's as close to "terrifying" as you will ever see in the context of the game of golf.
So we here at TigerCast Productions, who would normally be sitting here giving a big FUCK YOU to the rest of the golf world, have to just sit back, and go...
Damn.
