Here's my take on the TB - Boston brawl: if my farm team was spending less than a quarter than what the champs did, my take would be that I would hit enough guys on Boston's teams until the salaries matched.

Hit them in the head.

And then I'd go out and get the team that spent the least so I could do it to everyone.
