It may not be their decision to charge really high ticket prices. ClearChannel (the largest radio station owner in the US that also happens to own most venues and controls most concerts) truly fucks over artists on tour...it may have been ClearChannel who set the ticket prices. I've also heard that if an artist performs at a 50,000 seat venue, ClearChannel will often take 45,000+ seats for themselves, leaving only the profits of 5,000 seats for the artists.AArdvark wrote:Maybe they figure that they have 'matured' from the 80's (or 70's coughEaglescough) type stuff. Or maybe it's like a 401K investment for them. I bet most bands don't get things like retirement plans from record companies. I wonder what the Rolling Stones' problem is. Fuckers must be pretty broke, right?
Hey, ICJ: are those fighting words?chris wrote:a couple of washed-up has-beens like H&O
I think part of it is because it is Turning Stone Casino. Any show that I have ever seen listed there has been REALLY fucking expensive. Fucking casino. I wonder how much you would have to gamble to be comp'd for the show.Ice Cream Jonsey wrote:Jesus, Oates and Hall want a lot of money for tickets there. Who the hell do they think they are?
songs are GOOD. Professional musicians exclusively involved in the process from start to finish. Anyone who doesn't like them is simply a hayta TRYING TO TROLL ME.
I dunno, two dudes singin' light pop together is a little... you know?Ice Cream Jonsey wrote:Hall and Oates were like the most successful act of the 1980s... if they weren't #1, which I think they were in terms of record sales, then they weren't far off it. They're the most successful duo of all time.
And best of all, their songs are GOOD. Professional musicians exclusively involved in the process from start to finish. Anyone who doesn't like them is simply a hayta TRYING TO TROLL ME.
