Is this an inside joke I'm not privy to? It absolutely WAS Return of the King that won all the dumb awards.
And, while I haven't seen it yet, if it's not about a hundred times better than the first two movies put together, I don't see how any sane person could vote it "best picture of the year".

They had to give it all the awards because they spent so much money on it. It was ok, with somewhat better action than the first two (which i thought were ok as well).
