Here are some questions submitted to us by a friend of ChainGangGuy!

-In the movie, did it really give us the true accident where Matt lost his eyesight?

Indeed! Well, pretty much. It was a vat of experimental fluid that caused his blindness and enhanced his radar senses. A couple things changed.

In the comic book, Matt did not run off after seeing his father intimidate a man for the Kingpin. (In fact, the Kingpin had not been introduced yet -- the "Fixer" is the heavy of the origin story.) Matt instead knocked away a deaf man from the path of an oncoming truck filled with experimental and radioactive material, as the deaf man could not hear it coming.

When Matt was struck by the truck, one of the cannisters leaked, and that gave him his powers. He was already in shape, however, as he was training himself to stay in shape as a way "around" his father's edict to not punch anyone or get into organized violence, like football. In the movie, if I remember right, Matt starts training only after his accident.

The girl in the movie, is she really DDs "love who died", or did she survive and become some crime fighting machine too?

They don't mention Elektra surviving in the movie, although she definitely returns in the comics as she was resurrected by a group of ninjas called "The Hand." They have not resumed their romantic relationship upon her return, however. The new Elektra is not really a crime fighter, nor a purely emotionless assassin. (She does have her own comic now, however.)

Does he really sleep in a water chamber? Or was that his water therapy? Or is it the fact that noises are muffled by water?

The water chamber (and the scene where Matt takes down a handful of vicoden) were not something that has been shown in the comic. It's actually a marvelous addition, however, and probably something that *should* be in the comic. (But even something resembling drug use (in the latter case) would be frowned upon for a hero like Daredevil.) The water chamber was intended to be a sensory deprevation tank. In the comics, Matt's house or apartment usually doesn't last too long before someone -- usually the Kingpin -- blows it up. Such a device might be a bit damning to him hiding his identity, I would think.

So, like, you know, if I become bigger, stronger, and blacker, and train myself to the pinnacle of physical perfection wherein I can open up sacks of sand and/or flour with a single overarced, overacted, off-balanced and gratuitous swipe of my razor sharp knives while doing cartwheels, may I assume that I am now cut out to be a crime-fighting superhero? Or maybe just an underground ecoterrorist who can disable tree killing tractor's gas lines with a single swipe? Just trying to plan my day, you know.

Hi there Vitriola! The answer to your question is ... YES! With a lifetime of physical training (Elektra's father did not want her to become a 'victim') and expertise using sais (the knife-like objects that she wielded) you will possess the requisite skills to fight crime.

You may end up with one of your own sais through your chest, however.

DAREDEVIL FUN FACT: Did you know that the scene in the Daredevil movie where Elektra is impaled matches almost perfectly the same panel in which she dies in Daredevil #181? More, the writer of that comic (Frank Miller) has stated that it was implied through symbolism that Bullseye raped her as well. That could obviously not be shown due to the time and the Comics Code, so they attempted to convey this information "artistically."

But Vitriola! Trees like to be cut down! Imagine you're a tree. A lifetime of stoic unmoving. Now, someone is going to flip you over! Trees see getting chopped down as people see roller coasters. You shouldn't cry for them in that, Vitriola! Reagan knew that the environment could take it!

But in the interests of method acting, let us just say that what is known in the 'Biz' as 'pretending to be blind and copping a feel', while the takes were 'thrown to the cutting room floor', shall lend itself to one hell of a XXX 'tour de force' which we think, shall have you 'cumming back for more'.

Has the Daredevil ever actually killed any villains?

How does Bullseye get his powers?

Bullseye was born with his perfect aim.

In the comics (and for the movie-fans, this would essentially be right after his fall from the church in the feature film) his bones are bonded with adamantium, an unbreakable metal, in much the sam way that Wolverine's were. Some depictions of Bullseye and Daredevil have given them a sort of "sixth sense" ("seventh," in Matt's case LOL!!!) towards each other where they were able to detect each other's presence, but this does not appear to be something which has been touched upon and carried over in recent depictions.

Let me "break character" for a second -- I always thought the answer was no. However, I was re-reading the graphic novel "Born Again" last night, and there is a scene where a guy in a chopper is firing indiscriminately at a crowd of people. Daredevil has ... argh, can't remember if it is a gatling gun or an RPG or whatever, but he's got a large projectile weapon that he grabbed from a guy he knocked around called "Nuke." Daredevil fires the weapon at the chopper.

It's never shown if the pilot gets out of the chopper -- at least, when I read it at 4:40am in the morning, I couldn't tell. However, absolutely nothing in "Born Again" ever referenced it. (When Captain America shot a terrorist in the 1980s in order to stop said terrorist from shooting into a crowd, he agonized about it for months.)

Did the pilot deserve to die? Probably. Was shooting the chopper down the fastest (only?) way to get him to stop killing people? Definitely. But I can't say for certain whether or not he made it out of the copter alive or not.

Further bulletins as I research this.

He's definitely never thrown someone into the path of a train, like in the movie.

In the comic, there is an encounter with Bullseye right before Bullseye enters the body cast where he's got Bullseye's hand and they are both hanging off a ledge or a wire or whatnot -- definitely a few stories up.

Bullseye attempts to stab Daredevil's hand, so Daredevil lets just go.

Anyway, whether this is moral or justified or whatever can be debated -- how far are you willing to go to save the life of a guy who stuck your girl with a sai? (This is not something that is normally encountered in normal, everyday life, but raising hypotheticals like this is one of the reasons why I like comics, I guess.)

I haven't read a comic since i traded my mother's classic superman and other old comics for some disks of stupid games and other software for my cheap ass home computer. I should have saved those things. . . they would be worth at least thirty or fourty dollars now.
