NFL 2024

The Bills made it more interesting than they should've. I was pissing my pants when they were down 17-3. Thank god they straightened that shit out.

And FUCK Derek Carr. The 'Aints put up a billion points, and Carr can't manage 225 yards passing. WTAF? Motherfucker cost me $100.

Here is my relationship with football. Quick recap because maybe everyone knows: the blatant fix regarding the 2018 NFC Champion, coupled with the league picking on my team with the bullshit bounty thing, coupled with the garbage commissioner who is slime just makes me like the sport less. It's behind baseball and hockey for me. OKAY!

I was running around on Sunday with my nephew, who is slowly becoming aware of football. And it occurred to me that it is just not silly that ALL games aren't on some channel for free, it's just stupid and greedy. The .... Steelers vs Falcons were on. What a marquee matchup. Saints / Panthers is no better, but we were at a pizza parlor and a haircut joint and they just had Fox or whatever and, welp, that was the game. Go f yourself, if you want more, pay hundreds of dollars to get them all.

It's just dumb and it's greedy and it's stupid to lock America into one "free" game. I came away with contempt for the league. Which I have had for a long time now. There's four trillion channels on cable, they could at least use that, but they won't.

So. It was great to check in on the Saints game. I think your problem is that Derek Carr was TOO good and our coach pulled him. Ha! Ha ha! The same will happen to me this week when I have Justin Herbert going against the Panthers. I hope Carolina makes enough of a game of it that JH gets me three TD throws. Will they????????????????????

Also, having not paid attention for a bit, quarterback salaries are truly mind blowing. Tua is at $53 million a year? I am not saying they don't deserve it. It was just shocking to see how much it has gone up when I wasn't looking very closely. I think Brees was at $25 million on his last deal and he was the third best quarterback in the league. Tua is (IMO, not a negative) somewhere around 13-16 and 5 years later is easily twice that.

But I don't begrudge anyone making money and I hope he OK. You guys splattered him.

I feel bad for Tua. I genuinely hope he is OK.

I also hope he doesn't retire. I think he is VASTLY overrated, and every time the Bills play the Dolphins, Tua gives the Bills a chance to win. His inability to complete a clutch pass and make bad decisions is unmatched in the NFL. He looks like rookie Josh Allen, but EVERY YEAR and he never gets better.

It was Damar Hamlin who Tua ran into!! Insanity!

Hamlin may be my current favorite non-Saint. Love that guy. Leaves it all on the field.

Maybe Tua can barrel into anyone but the man that cannot die next time.

Also, I maintain that if Hamlin got the first down on the fake punt in the playoffs last year against the Chiefs and the Bills went onto win, it would be the greatest sports story of all time. I don't think I have given you that take yet.

I have NO idea what has gotten into the 'Aints this year, but they certainly think they're a real NFL team again. Lets see if their "D" can keep it up!

Watched the first 2 shitshows (Panthers games)

I'm out!

I've got a couple of friends who are Lions and Bears fans so I'll try to roll with that as far as minimal interest this year if they are over here or I'm at their place and they are watching football. Oh yeah and the Jets because Rogers is.. eh.. different, they've played much better than the Panthers this year, and I used to play as them a lot in the Madden games simply because I liked their uniforms and their shitty stats in 97.

EDIT: Also YEAH! FUCK Derek Carr!! I don't know wtf that is but nearly every time I watched the Panthers play the Saints I got pissed off.

Two straight games, the Saints could not hold a lead in the last minute. I have no idea why we have the coach we have. If a coach that came up through the defense side of things can't hold a lead, what is the point.

(His defense did not allow a touchdown. I get that other things were at play.)

2-2. Fast start was wasted. Didn't take long for the league to adjust to Kubiak's kid.

Saints have dropped three in a row. At least they didn't give the game away in the final minute against the Chiefs. (They were never really in it.) Nobody expected them to win this one.

Carr throwing a 50/50 ball that was intercepted was something they never came back from. TAKE THE SACK.

Our kicker missed an extra point.

I guess there won't be a line of suitors trying to pick Klint Kubiak (new offensive co-ordinator) away, like we thought after the first two games. Probably ok to put some roots down. He is still better than Pete Carmichael. So I am not complaining here.

Saints are said to be "in" on Davante Adams. WHY. We can't get the ball to our current #1 receiver.

Adams wanted to go to NO because of his relationship with Carr. Now that DC is out for some period of time... he may be less excited about going there.

Fucking Buffalo. "Nah, we dont need any receivers". WTAF. This receiving corps is infuriating.

Yes. Carr is out and then the coach in NY, where Rodgers is, got fired. It's DRYING UP, Davante.

How TF do the Chiefs keep winning?

The Bills beat them. Check.
The Chiefs then play the Panthers, and squeak out a win against arguably the worst team in the league.
Today they play the Raiders, also arguably the worst team in the league, and they win because Vegas fumbles the snap on the play before kicking the potential game-winning field goal.

Good teams find ways to win.
Lucky teams find ways not to lose.

The Chiefs have locked up a playoff spot, but will be making an early exit this year.

Harrison Ford telling us "you don't need to like someone to wave to them" in the Super Bowl ad was a decision. OHHHHH okay, thanks man. I know he is at the point of his life where he's just cashing the check and will say anything they pay him to say. And of course as a red-blooded Gen Xer I will always like the man and his work. But I want to imagine a scenario where a slave mine-owning, fat awkward Nazi tells him to "return to the office" and he's cool with it. Let's all be friends, Harrison. Sure.

He can't not be grumpy promoting a film he got paid millions of dollars for.

I do like our Jeep, though.
