Maybe we'll revisit this thread in 10 years because search works.
There were Twitter reporters stating that Shohei Ohtani was going to sign with the Toronto Blue Jays: he didn't, he signed a 10 year $700 million contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Ohtani is unique in that he is an excellent batter and pitcher, but I think he had ligament damage and will only be a designated hitter next year. I'm really curious how long he will be an effective player, I am not sour graping this, just genuinely curious. The Dodgers signed him for his 29 through age 39 seasons.
