Obi-Wan Kenobi

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I dunno who is telling Star Wars producers that we want to see kids act. It's like they didn't learn anything about poor Jake Lloyd and OH BOY they're going to show us now. Kids acting was not something they should have been cocky about.

The girl playing Young Leia did a great job acting like Carrie Fisher, however they did that, that's amazing but the thing with little kids acting in something like this is that most people are watching this Star Wars stuff to get away from their kids for 45 minutes.

Star Wars has always been able to introduce bad guys and make you instantly hate them and the three Sith wandering into Tatooine are sufficiently dislikeable. We will all cheer when they get their heads chopped off with a lightsaber since we never see them again. Oh but maybe they die but survive??????? The main tension in the episode was from wondering if the meat packer guy who shortchanged his employees was going to get his comeuppance now or later.

The Mandalorian's first season was an incredible event that now seems once in a generation. The first episode of Obi-Wan doesn't have a lot going for it, it's not ridiculously offensive on any level or anything, it's fine. It's not going to kill us. I did like Obi-Wan suggesting that they hire a bounty hunter. Of course, since that would have been pretty cool I knew to not get my hopes up.

I liked that Obi-Wan seemed to have a communicator or device in his stash that looked like a Sidetalkin'.

Flea looks like a goddamn lunatic. Good for Flea!

Episode two had some parts that dragged - boy, I hope they get past the kid stuff - but otherwise it had some semi-twists. Ewan McGregor has a lot more to do here than in the prequels, which makes sense because I am better at my job than I was 20 years ago too. This is fine. It's not going to shake the world up, but this is plenty fine for popcorn tv.

My fiancé has abandoned the series after Ep. 2, pulling herself up from the couch and asking in a most accusatory tone "did you know this was supposed to be a show with a kid in it?" No, honey, I did not. I swear!

Sit back down, dear. See? It's Flea, and who doesn't like the Flea? Look out, look out, Flea! Watch out for that small pile of leaves and twigs or you'll never catch the kid leisurely jogging through the woods.

I didn't mind the little princess, she's a little bitchy.

She doesn't like Flea? Is she at least neutral on Flea?

I am liking the non-actors that Star Wars is putting in these episodes like Flea and Bill Burr. I'm fine with them doing that.

Not a huge Red Hot Chili Peppers fan, but I've always liked Flea. Then again.. he did play with FEAR in 1982 which is only the most bad ass punk band that will ever exist. Remember him as Marty's boss in Back to the Future 2? I remember watching it for the first time and being like "Wow this guy looks like a complete asshole I'd never want to associate with. Wow what a dick.. Wow.. that's.. that's FLEA! Awesome!" I'd say he's actually a very good actor compared to others that claim that title. He was in numerous movies!

I haven't watched the show yet as I'm one of the weird Star Wars fans that only views Alec Guinness as Obi-wan. However, I remember seeing the promos for Phantom Menace thinking "Oh god who's this dude with the rat-tail?" but probably solely based on the English accent delivery of his lines and the familiar pattern of his lines.. I totally bought this guy is younger Obi-Wan. Yet honestly, part of me always wished old man Kenobi just fucked Darth's shit up in epsiode IV rather than doing the odd sacrificial ritual. People complain about new Star Wars, and with damn good reason.. but argh that part annoyed me since I was 4.

I do wonder if they are going to have a Darth / Ben fight.

I would like to say that Discovery trying to tell us that Mister Spock had an adopted sister THE WHOLE TIME!!!!! was very stupid and hopefully one of the final dumbass adjustments in these shows. I forget what the term is called. Re-something or Retro something. One second.

"retcon" (retroactive continuity). Not to be confused with "Retron," a company that makes clone retro consoles.

I haven't gotten that far.

Please, CO, we haven't gotten that far. We just finished the action-packed sequence where Obi-Wan is four rooftops away, we cue up the Mary Poppins tune "Step In Time" and have an extended parkour sequence, only to end up twenty-three rooftops away.

Well, episode 3 was excellent. Not a sentence I ever thought I'd say about Star Wars!

Enjoyed 4 quite a bit. Lots of the stuff everyone likes about star wars right through to the end. Little girl is still bratty but gets her ass told off a lot.

Let's see if I have this right. In Ep. 3 Obi-Wan shoos Kid Leia and Rebel Lady down what appears to be a linear, one-way tunnel to the nearby spaceport so he can stay behind and give a good long peekaboo through the space shutters at Vader. At some midpoint, Kid Leia asks Rebel Lady to help Obi-Wan, who has left the safehouse to skulk about the compound. Then, we have Reva heading into the tunnel to track down her Jedi prey. Rebel Lady ends up on a hill overlooking Obi-Wan's position, Reva makes it to the spaceport and Kid Leia is still finishing up the last leg of the tunnel, having lost the speed to outrun three adults in the forest from the previous episode. Nobody crossed paths. Perhaps Reva never actually entered the tunnel and I missed some posted sign in the Star Wars language Aurebesh that read "to Spaceport" so she could use her Sith Running Powers to get to docking bay ahead of Kid Leia. I dunno. Just feels like Star Wars on The CW level writing. At least it's better than The Book of Boba Fett.

I read 500 responses in a Reddit thread and they haven't figured it out yet either. There are a lot of theories, like that Reva figured out where the tunnel was going and then went outside and ran around really fast to the exit, but my personal theory is more mundane -- I think a scene got cut that explained how she got there.

Maybe we just all agree that since Disney bought the property they've let writing go to shit.
