Your Colorado Avalanche are far and away the top team in the league, so the burning question is:
Which team will they lose to in the second round of the playoffs this year?

They haven't won a game since I posted this. They're getting into playoff form!

They sucked a few years ago. How did they get so good so quickly?

Their underperforming players started performing correctly, and then got a couple new studs, like the hated and reviled Nazem Kadri.

So, the Sabres win, with two of the guys we traded Eichel for scoring. Post-game comments make him the world's largest bitch:
What a fucking baby.
I was on his side regarding his neck surgery and figured he wanted out. That happens. But what a loser and narcissist. There is no fairness in the world so I'm sure he and Vegas will win the Stanley Cup in three years, but still. Good to win one. I hope the Sabres become a playoff team soon

Owen Power, the #1 pick this year, has released that BUFFALO IS INEVITABLE.
He is playing his first game tonight.
I am enjoying the future of Buffalo Sabres hockey.

Last year during the second round of playoffs I said I didn't know how the Avs could ever lose a game and then they lost four straight. Right now they are up 3-0 in the first round, and the only game that was close was when the Predators goalie was standing on his head and having the game of his life.
I'll concede they might lose a game, but they are so good and have exactly zero weaknesses this year. It is the best hockey team I've ever seen.
If they don't bring it home this year, I give up.

Watching game 4. Two minutes in, Burakovsky shoots and starts celebrating but play continued for another minute.
He shot it so hard the puck went through the top of the net and nobody noticed.
I've never seen that before. They're doing cheat codes out here.

After letting the Predators lead for a few minutes in game 4 (the only few minutes in the entire series that they led), Avs polished off the sweep and are now awaiting... well, it doesn't much matter.
We'll watch some of the other playoff games going on and just comment "aw, look how cute, they're trying their best."
I do not think anyone will beat this team.
I'm calling it.

They have gone 11-2 in the playoffs so far and are one win away from the finals. Currently up 1-0 after the first period and making the Oilers look like a bunch of baby back bitches.
See you in the finals.

6-5 win in OT. What a game. They're having trouble losing even when they try to.

I'm being generous to the Bolts by saying it'll go five games. More than generous. I watched a lot of the Lightning/Rangers series and the Avs are playing a different game than these losers. It was like watching hockey in slow motion compared to what we've watched the Avalanche do the last month.

Ooooooooo. The Lightning have won 11 straight series though.
Have............the Avs any such streak?

Game 1: Probably the worst I've seen the Avalanche play in the last month. Passes continually missing the mark, turnovers in their own end, and at times, the goalie didn't look like he could stop a bowling ball from 50 feet away.
Still won it in overtime.
Series: over.

Hockey is intrinsically interesting. I don't want to see another Tampa Bay team win anything.
