"Lisa Marie has left the building."

Since her father was "The King," doesn't that make her "The Princess"?

At first I thought Tal Wilkenfied was Jeff Beck's daughter, a-la Wolfie VanHalen, because she looked like she was nineteen and on tour with him. After some info searching I found out differently

I guess all that' left of his singing group is Stills, Nash, and Young. Or some combination of fewer members. Or whatever the last group he wax in that haf his name on it.
Wikipedia reports David Crosby died January 18, 2023, at the age of 81 after a long illness. There is no mention of where.

I can believe that David Crosby died first.
I guess all that' left of his singing group is Stills, Nash, and Young
"All that is left" of Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young is Stills, Nash and Young. Fair. Can't argue with that.

David Crosby looked like a teacher I had that was a jerk. He was a fat guy into cocaine and never wore shoes, traits I find disgusting. I know nothing about the man's personality. One of the first songs I ever remember truly enjoying as a small child was "Wasted on the Way," which I think was written by one of the others in their band. Graham Nash maybe. It should have been in that thread I had where I listed all my favorite songs, but I had forgotten about it. I heard it again today.

I did some reading about the song - I guess Nash wrote it after he recovered from a drug addiction. That made me very happy as I know realize that "Wasted on the Way" has a second meaning sort of. It's about time wasted because of addiction but also being YA KNOW "wasted" due to drugs ha ha ha. I realize the rest of you realized that 45+ years ago.

I didn't know who he was until I heard the song "Immigration man" on a local radio talk show a co worker was blasting 20 years ago. My opinion of this song is "..meh".

We brought Noodle home from the local animal shelter in August of 2019. The vet guessed he was about a year old, although my stock in what our vet thinks and knows at the moment isn't real high. The vet also told us Noodle was healthy, which is why we were all surprised when three months later he had a stroke and series of seizures that permanently ruptured his ear drum and changed his personality from one of a spry 10 year old child to that of a sixty year old man. The stroke permanently affected his equilibrium, and he spent the rest of his life walking around with his head cocked at a 45 degree angle. The kids called him Noodle because he was the color of Ramen Noodles, while my wife and I secretly called him that because his brains were like scrambled noodles. The vet was unsure what happened to Noodle's balance, but offered us two solutions: eardrops that "probably wouldn't do much" for $200, or "exploratory brain surgery" that would start at $1,200 with no guarantees of discovering anything. We opted for the eardrops and for once the vet was right -- they didn't do anything.

Noodle was affectionate but odd. He liked to sit near people, but not on them. While we watched TV he would sit on the floor and stare at us with his crooked head. He liked laying near the foot heater in my wife's office and in front of the fireplace, but also had an affinity for Amazon trash. He loved not only sitting inside Amazon boxes, but making little beds out of sheets of bubble wrap and any other packing material he could find.

We're not sure what happened but it seems on Friday, Noodle suffered a more serious stroke and/or seizure that left him completely lethargic and mostly paralyzed. We took him to the vet Saturday morning who, after billing us $950, said (I'm paraphrasing here) "fuck if I know!" The vet said if things didn't improve within 48 hours to bring him back. Things did the opposite of improving, and Sunday night Noodle left the vet's office in a box.

I don't like to see animals suffer, and I sure don't like to see the people I love suffer. Sadly this is only the third worst thing that's happened to us this month. Can't say I've looked forward to a February this much in a long time. I'm not sure if we'll be getting another cat anytime soon, but if we do I'm sure as fuck getting a new vet.

Rest in peace, my little noodle-brained buddy.

Sorry about your loss. Losing a pet is one of the things that never gets any easier, as others here will understand.

I thiught, "Gee, Flack is sad over losing his Noodle." It then dawned on me that can be taken in an entirely differebt meaning.

For many people, losing a pet can be as bad - or worse - than losing a xhild. It looked likq!e a beautiful cat
My condolences to you, Flack.

RIP Noodle. He had a real intelligent look about him despite the scrambled brain and he sounds like he was a real character as well as a great friend.

Sorry, Flack.

Damn, Flack. I'm really sorry to hear that man. I know you've had a rough go lately. "When it rains it pours" seems to always be true; but at least it can't rain forever.

Anyone know when the funeral is?

It's important to me that you know how much I enjoyed that one.

Do we really have to engage in gallows humor?
