Well, let us try this again, shall we? Ostensibly, the players will tee off at 7:30 AM EST, and play 36 holes today (Friday).
Of course, this will not come close to actually happening. The start will doubtlessly be pushed back a few more hours, and if they manage to get any more than one or two extra holes after the first 18 in, I will be mightily impressed.
But no matter, the tournament will happen sometime, and it will be finished sometime, and it will be the greatest thing to happen in 2003...
...so far!

Woods began his day by hitting four ugly shots before chipping in from about 40 feet for a bogey. He also bogeyed Nos. 4 and 5, hardly looking like the guy who dominated Augusta the last two years.
While Woods struggled, Darren Clarke of Northern Ireland and Sergio Garcia of Spain, surged to the front on a soggy course, inundated by 4 inches of rain since Sunday.
For the record, both Clarke and Garcia count as members of "the field."

...but wait!
As of right now, the leader has come back two, and Tiger has birdied two in a row, so he is now only six shots back, not even halfway through the second round, tied for 21st.
While I am not going to start getting excited yet, six shots is nothing on this course, in these conditions. If he can keep the pressure on, we might be in for a stunning reversal.
But I am not going to start getting excited yet. I'm not, I'm not, I'm not.
I'm NOT.

Hmm.
Well now.
Having to make a tricky three-footer to even make the cut this morning, Tiger went out in the afternoon and shot a tidy little bogie-free 66 in the third round, leapfrogging over approximately 40 competitors, and landing in a tie for fifth, four shots back going into tomorrow's final round.
