Went to the game last night. We lost (of course) which brings our record to 2-24. I did the math last night and posted this on my blog:

In related news, the worst NBA record of all time is 9-73, earned by the 1972/73 Philadelphia 76ers. With a 2-24 record, we’ve currently won 7.69% of our games. A 9-73 record requires a team to win 12.32% of their games. Maybe we’re on track for a record this year after all.

The other highlight of last night? Fouling a 3 point shooter (while shooting a 3 point shot) with 1.8 seconds left in the third. Who invented that trick? Moses? (Not Malone.) So fucking stupid.

I'm so used to watching the Thunder get their asses kicked that watching OU get their asses kicked tonight just seemed like more of the same. Sigh.

Well fuck me runnin' (I'm not sure anybody says that anymore but me). Just got back from tonight's game where we beat the Jazz by 21 points. Wow. I think that takes us to 7-33.

I have a bet with a co-worker that we will win less than 18 games this season. Seemed like a good bet until the Utah game. I guess we'll see if Detroit can't put them in their place tonight.

My season's tickets cost me $10/game. Cheap, right? Wednesday I dropped $6 on parking, $3 on cotton candy, $6 on a large lemonade, and $21.50 on a youth-sized hat.

(It was for the boy; I have an adult-sized head. Honest.)

Took the wife to last night's game. Our recent winning streak (and really, how desperate are you when you refer to winning two games in a row as a "winning streak") has really affected attendance. Back in December when we were 2-24, I would say attendance was around 60%, maybe. Friday night's game against Detroit was sold out, and last night's game against Miami must've been close.

By the end of the first, the Thunder was trailing 27-31, and 18 of the Heat's 31 points belonged to Dwayne Wade. That's when you know it's over -- when the other team has a superstar that you have no answer to. Inside, outside, Wade dropped whatever he wanted whenever he wanted. And as much as I hate the Heat, their shooting from outside the arc is pretty amazing. I think I heard that their percentage from outside the 3-point line was not only at least 50%, but higher than their percentage from inside the arc. That's impressive.

Hello me, it's me again.

This past Tuesday, the New Orleans Hornets (who, for two years, were the Oklahoma City Hornets) played the Oklahoma City Thunder (who, for many years, were the Seattle SuperSonics. Confused? I know I am.

Of course, Chris Paul sunk a deuce for the win with two seconds left, but that wasn't the story of the night -- which was, Rumble the Bison. From the USA Today:

The Thunder concocted a background story for the mascot, saying Rumble helped save the rest of his herd of bison during a ferocious storm before he was stranded alone in the Arbuckle Mountains and was struck by a bolt of lightning that gave him added strength and agility.

Brian Byrnes, the Thunder's senior vice president of ticket sales and service, said the mascot's name was chosen because it is both the sound of thunder and the sound of bison, which is Oklahoma's state animal.

Rumble did two main "tricks", the first being an alley-oop shot off a trampoline (which he missed) and the second, a backflip off a ladder dunk (which he missed). How am I supposed to be excited about a mascot that misses his first two dunks!

I have always called Bison "Buffalo" (especially here in Oklahoma) but I learned this week that there are no native Buffalo in the United States. They're all Bison. That's really going to be a shock to the Cherokee Restaurant down on I-40, which sells Buffalo Burgers. Maybe they're imported.

And yeah. We all know he looks like Teen Wolf.

Well, the 'Thunder' is in reference to the endless rumbling of their fat, hungry bellies.

Hey, shit happens when you live in an area where you can get pretty much anything deep-fried and served with white gravy.

Whoa he does the tricks in that costume? Lucky seems a whole lot less impressive now.

Here's the video:

Say what you will about missing the back flip dunk off the ladder, that took some big 'ol bison-sized balls.

Looks like a bigfoot. Although a bigfoot doing a backflip off'n a twenty foot stepladder is actually impressive. Glad he din't mush his face on the basketball rim.

Like to see the Amerks moose do that.

I hope the moose starts up with the donuts on the four wheeler again. That was cool.

Until the night he went thru the boards and there was an hour and a half delay to repair it.

For those of you that missed it a few months back (read: everybody), here is a link to the video of the lady who almost died during halftime.

Note to self: Practice underwater escape trick a few more times before performing it at halftime show in front of little kids ...

What would have happened if they covered the tank with a curtain and then waited five minutes with suspenseful music droning. I've seen a magician actually do that but he didn't almost die.
