Why did you bother to give stuff up, then?
I'm resisting my urge to write messages on this BBS that don't have jokes or riddles in them. Funnily enough, this message is exactly one of those posts. A time waster. Something I should have aborted three lines ago.

I thought an exercise in restraint would be good for illuminating the fact that the less you get, the less you realize you need to be happy. I think it was a success. I still continue it, but there's a difference between "restraint" and "giving something up... forever!"
(Specifically, this is a trap known all-too-well to dieters. "Eh, I had one bite of ice cream. I broke my diet! It's a failure! Might as well eat the entire rest of the tub now, and become one again.")

When you need my help because I'm ruining everything, don't look at me.

It was the special over at Border Grill, the restaurant put together by the "Too Hot Tamales". It was braised chicken, marinated in coriander and served with a rojo mole sauce and a mushroom corn cake.
I could not resist the description, no, but I am not going to Border Grill and not ordering meat. It's just a thing with me. Border Grill is an experience, which I will not temper for any spiritual quest.
