Costco is $2.72 in Rocheste right now.
The best non-member stations are right about $3.00.

I haven't bought gas in 3 weeks. I love my EV. I also have charged for free at the town library (1-mile walk from home) and in my wife's parking garage.

Yeah, this is why I never payed any at all attention to anything Kingie said, always generic shitpostings or barely relevant humblebrags. Can someone point me to a single original thread started by daking? Search doesn't work so anyone remember anything original he has ever posted? Would love to be wrong but doubtful.

Honestly, Jiz, I'm disappointed. When I first started paying attention this was an underground place for weirdos and nerds whose diverse weird interests intersected at video games we grew up on. I didn't really engage until the in person gaming sessions seemed increasingly fraught with old system failures, around I'm thing 2001 or so maybe. Always looked at this as a group of folks who kinda agreed about some things but mainly needed to let off steam on each other. We've all aged differently. I continued to struggle in my relationship leading to same with career and still learning (hense why daking was being a shitpostings asshole) and one person longer here (thanks to Straw 4 souls actually) commuted double murder suicide. Others moved to the suburbs, kept sleeping in their truck on business trips, and kept buying ney WRXs. All that's left here is people talking about what we're interested in and one or two folks sort of engagement. I get more authentic human engagement in LinkedIn with a fart joke. Love hearing about your NC trailer man, that part of the NC coast is my least favorite and the trailer sounds awful. You're what 39 something and you're not even one of the lifeguards? That takes like a 2 week course at most. JC has become a terribly sad sad sack of a site and maybe ICJ should try to ban me or go all Walrussity in this place. IDK honestly.

Is that really all it is though? Somehow I feel like something or somethings external to this forum are bothering you as well. But, to your point the general "feel" of things has changed a bit since I joined. I kinda get where you are going because for me it used to be there were tons of jokes flying around I didn't get, sarcasm I didn't get, etc while there was a lot more Interactive Fiction talk going on. This was back when I was learning Hugo and talked with Roody very, very often. These days Roody and I hardly talk but it's not as if it's because we dislike one another. While are are the same people.. we are in different places now as far as interests, occupation, etc.

Originally this was sort of a political thread. Starting maybe a couple of months ago I chose to avoid speaking about politics here because it seemed like every time I did people got angry or lumped me in with some group. Sometime I learned long ago playing Ultima Online is that "neutral" people can sort of be outcasts for whatever reason lol. That's fine. Rather than argue about stupid shit I'd rather do shit and talk about shit I'm doing. My Twitter account has usually followed the same theme. There I generally "like" people with the same behavior, many of which are Japanese.

That being said, you probably don't care about my opinion on this either, but I really don't see where all this judgement and hostility is coming from. What do you care what we do with our time? And why do you seem to have some ROUND 1 FIGHT thing going on with DaKing? I've been wayyy more hostile with others here than I've seen him get with you.

I am actually 45 years old. Why would I be a lifeguard? Sure, I can outswim most or all of them but I get paid the same or more because of mainly being a night security guy during season. I also still have a 2nd job in IT doing contract work. HURR DURR I HATE YR BEACH AND TRAILER just gtfo man lol

There's been a lot of talk about how things have been going during Trump's first 100 days in office, so I decided to go over to 7-11 and document today's gas price.

Today, gas is $2.76. That's 45 cents higher than it was the day we elected Trump.

There's this thing magicians do where they'll wave their hand around in the air to draw your attention to it. I've seen enough magicians perform that whenever they do that, my eyes immediately focus on the other hand. Almost always you'll see the other hand slide into their pocket, or behind their back, or inside their jacket.

It's no secret that one of Trump's plans is to create so much chaos, all day every day, that because of the sheer volume it becomes impossible to track or even care about everything. It's signal-to-noise 101. Which is why nobody will address simple things they bring up. No one has time to focus on Haitian immigrants eating cats because that feels like it was 20 years ago. There are things that happened on Monday that by Wednesday are already buried by another dozen scandals.

That's why when you mention things like President Trump saying he would end inflation on day one and that gas prices would go down because "drill, baby, drill" they never answer you. They just say, well, it wasn't his fault. Or you just have to be patient. Or this is all left over from Biden. Or one of a hundred other excuses.

They never say, "Trump said he would lower gas prices and instead they have gone up 45 cents."

They never say "he lied."

I don't think he has "humblebragged" in his entire life.

Look, it has been difficult to get new people to post here. This is because we project an aura of a closed community. I wish we didn't. Sometimes people aren't a good fit and they leave and sometimes some of you run them off. That's just the way it is, and the way it is always going to be.

I wouldn't even know HOW some fresh blood would integrate into this place. You tell me.
