I resent that and find it very offensive. If nothing else, Rush Limbaugh at a minimum is a hypocrite and quite possibly should be doing prison time for what he did.
I'm not a hypocrite and I tried to offer what I thought was useful advice here.

Wow, man. Wow.
I could say so many things. I could comment on how every single person on the goddamn BBS--everyone but YOU--understood without needing to be told what had happened. I could point out that someone very specifically said to check the news, and that anyone with a brain functioning at a level greater than a --my girlfriend has just asked me to not insult the great sea turtle.Let me try again. Anyone with a brain functioning at a higher level than a sea sponge, could infer that somethign of greater significance than a guy late on his morgage payments was going down. I could point out that threads don't resurrect themselves after 3 months. I could rehash the 100$ correct posts previous of Pinback. But I'm not going to do that. Do you know why, you sociopathic bag of fat dicks? Because, as the song says, this song aint about you.
Let's hold on just one goddamn minute here. A user on here, by the handle of "Straw Man" with no location has posted some comments. I don't know who he is. I do not know his name. But apparently everyone else here does. Okay, I should go check the news.
WHAT THE FUCK DO I LOOK FOR WHEN I DON'T KNOW WHERE HE LIVES OR WHAT HIS NAME IS?
Give me a goddamn break, will you? HOW DO I CHECK THE NEWS ABOUT SOMEONE FOR WHOM I DON'T HAVE A CITY OR NAME?
Again, I WILL NOT APOLOGIZE FOR FAILING TO BE A GODDAMN MINDREADER OR NOT BEING ABLE TO LOOK UP A NEWS ARTICLE ABOUT SOMEONE FOR WHOM I DO NOT KNOW THE CITY OR AREA THEY ARE FROM OR THEIR NAME.
I really appreciate your insightful and well-expressed criticism of me. Fuck you very much. And if you're going to pick on me, you might try learning to spell. Do you even know who the original Lysander Spooner was and what he did? I do, and I don't even have to look it up.Lysander wrote:I would, however, like to thank oyu, for proving once and for all that God does exist. Because you've certainly proved the existence of hell. which for Jack would probably go something like murdering your family and yourself in a senseless act of violence then getting the thread about it on his vavorit BBS hijacked by a complete cuntbag like you.
As for the existence of Hell, Robert Short in his 1970 book Something to Believe in: Is Kurt Vonnegut The Exorcist of Jesus Christ Superstar argues that mainstream religion is wrong; that Hell is not the place people go when they die if they weren't saved through the intercession of Jesus Christ, it is the existence they have here and now and is the suffering they experience in this life from separation from God (for those that don't have a relationship with him).
Short argues, through scriptural references, that there is no hell beyond the grave and that all people get into heaven when they die. (I'm not sure if he mentions it, but most people's idea of Hell isn't from scripture, it's from Dante's Inferno.) Short points out that the punishment the mainstream churches claim is the result for sinning in this world is so grossly disproportionate and out of character for a God who supposedly is a God of Love, Mercy and justice, that the only way you could grant to God the willingness to impose such grossly disproportionate punishments upon people is essentially to turn him into a monster of evil.
This sort of "Monster God" that throws out a billion years and more of eternal torture for what someone does in a lifetime of seventy years is the sort of entity that you have to ask: could any decent person who has even a shred of decency be willing to partipate in this sort of travesty of injustice by being willing to be in heaven while others who may have done very little to deserve it or worse than they did, but are tortured in hell forever?
If anything, this kind of portrayal of a monster God that mainstream churches try to argue in favor of is more likely to drive people away from God.
And more importantly, how can Christ, who supposedly also cares about people, was supposed to save people from this sort of eternal torment, also be complicit in this sort of scheme of endless torture?
If a person believes what is claimed by John 3:16 that God loved the world (or rather, the people in the world), how do they at the same time, with a straight face, then have the audacity to claim He will then put someone in an unending punishment of a billion, trillion years of torture for their existence of less than 100 years? How do you equate that kind of dripping hate and rank injustice from an entity supposedly of justice and love?
