The answer was: nobody!
That being said, they released a new video (Meet the Scout). Here it is. And I am going to test a bug Worm found, which is that all text after a Youtube link doesn't appear:

The fact that this sums up how I feel about every Scout I have ever encountered makes it brilliant.

I totally missed this post, This was the day I sprained my ankle too! So I would have been ready to go!
I play a scout (or a pyro), and I think the video is great. Because while every other fucking MORON is playing patty cake deathmatch the scout is trying to actually win, and that's why he's the most important fucker ever.
However any given time you only need one scout (me), but I'd rather have five scouts than five engineers.

Re: Team Fortress 2
I liked TF2 so much I bought gift copies for two friends. One of them was Ben, but he didn't even redeem the gift, let alone play the game, so I re-gifted it to someone else. They both love the it, but I discovered that it really isn't that much fun playing with friends, at least not just one or two - maybe a whole team would be different. But if you end up on opposite sides, as often happens, it's too hard to find and kill just one guy in the match. And if you're on the same side, unless one of you plays a medic, teaming up just doesn't do much, and you get separated too often.Ice Cream Jonsey wrote:So, which one of you mouthy motherfuckers wants to get shot in the face tonight during Team Fortress 2?
I'd like to try it with a whole team of people who know each other, all with voice comms. I've been thinking of joining a clan, but I don't know if I want to devote that much time to the game.
On that note, what do you guys think are good games to play online with friends? The only ones I can really think of are all MMORPGs.

Trash was indeed fun. It scaled down the RTS into a few units I could recall from memory. Didn't we have a hell of a time all getting together on Battle.net for Starcraft? I remember realizing that I did not have a real copy of the game, running out to the store to get it (credit Blizzard for making games good enough to stay in retail for 9 years) and then being disappointed when we could not find each other through the game service.
I also remember, throughout both games, things almost coming to fistfights as people jockeyed to not be on my team. Sorry guys.
Also, the funniest thing about Trash was when we all clicked the "start game" button and it started its countdown to begin, and we would shout out, "PLEASE ABORT" and "NO, PLEAAAASE!!! OH GOD NO" before the game started.
The least funniest thing was when we had the computer play a guy and he still outscored me.

I was totally worse in Starcraft. I just really fucking hate strategy games. How about next time you remind me to take five or six advil PM before I play, that should calm me down.pinback wrote:That was a rollicking good time, except Worm would behave like a petulant child when he lost, which was all the time.

Are you high? Where the hell do you think I bought Ep One, and Bioshock, and Portal, and like eight other damn games?
See, you speak before you know. This is my problem with you. (And everyone else in the entire universe, including myself.)

Well, I would put it this way. Do you remember the joy with which you purchased the movie Magnolia, for people? The hurried bustle with just how you completed the cash transaction so you could send the movie off to your friends, so they could enjoy it to? Do you recall biting your lip in anticipation of what your friends might say?pinback wrote:Are you high? It was the same thing with Fin getting you Team Fortress 2. Except that you never redeemed it. You never got to the point where it was raining frogs (which in Team Fortress 2, is probably when it rains gibs). The hand of friendship, in a shared experience, was offered to you, and you slapped it away, like so much pussy that Tom Cruise was attempting to tame.
