I'd say I do alot for the music scene around here, really I do. But, even on those off days in which I only feel like responding, I'd like to think that at least I *name* the band I'm talking about.

So, what's so special about Slobberbone, anyway? Give me a couple songs to check out. I might not like them, but at least I'd have heard it.

Anyway, what are my favorite songs? "I Can Tell Your Love Is Waning," a charming ballad of regret, clinical depression, and murder. With a steak knife:

"I can tell your love is waning

Amy likes "Sixteen Days."

I like "Find The Out" and "Live On In The Dark" from <i>Slippage</i>. "Josephine" is a terrific song. "Lumberlung":

Turned north just south of Arkansas,
Headed up towards those vast great lakes.

Agreed on all, particularly "Lumberlung."

On the more loud guitar rock side, "Placemat Blues" is excellent (believe that's also on "Everything You Thought," which is probably my favorite of their albums. "Bright Eyes Darkened" is always a favorite. "I'll Be Damned" (off "Barrel Chested"). "Can't Stay Sober," which they only play live.

It's pretty hard to go wrong.

It's pretty hard to go wrong.

They closed their regular set with "Can't Stay Sober." We also got "Lumberlung" as second encore, "I Can Tell Your Love Is Waning," "Give Me Back My Dog," and "Find The Out," among others. No "Josephine" though; great, funny "Pinball Song" with lots of audience participation. Fine show.

But if ever offered the opportunity to see Two Cow Garage...don't.
