I would only wish that for all of us.

Okay. Here's my dumb take.

The radiation MIGHT work. Sometimes radiation benefits people, like the Hulk and Doctor Manhattan. Sometimes it does not benefit people, like the hundreds of thousands of people that lived in Hiroshima, Nagasaki and Chernobyl and the greater Hiroshima, Nagasaki and Chernobyl areas.

Scooping it out WILL work.

As a long time champion of a cartoon commercial avatar that scooped ice cream cereal out of a drivable ice cream truck, I of course would like to encourage the scooping.

He tenuously floated the term "cure" out there, if everything goes to spec.

Then I talked with my radiation doctor today about the plan, and he said, well, the point of the radiation is to kill off the two tumors I got in there, and if it did its job, then there's nothing to remove with surgery.

So now it's like, am I dying or not? What the fuck is going on? This one's telling me I'm a goner, this other one's saying, nah, let's just kill 'em off, the other one's saying nah, let's just remove 'em.

It was all very clear when I was definitely on my way out, now I dunno what to think. Oh well, time for another Oxy.
As someone who has laid in bed late at night choked up summarizing this thread to his wife, I am glad to hear the latest turn of events.

I will hold off on sending my "things I wanted to say to Pinback before he croaks" email... for now.

If the doctor that gave you the death sentence was wrong, I will bring back the Pinback apology generator.

This is honestly the best news I've read all month, even better than the Big Bear Eaglet flying, I hope you can keep crumudgeoning for many years to come.

Serious question though, now there are a number of cancer treatments that can be targeted to your tumor's genes. Was that ever an option offered or is that not a thing yet for what ya got?

Thank you both. I do think we need to "manage hope" a little bit here. I do believe the doctor who said that in my situation, the average lifespan is three years. I also believe the doctors who say that there's a possibility for a "cure", or at least a longer-than-three-years solution, be it surgical or via radiation.

To quote the illustrious Wolf, let's not start suckin' each other's dicks quite yet.

But until the conversations I had this week, I did not feel there was even a remote chance of any future dick suckin'. So we'll see. Keep your dicks ready, but don't start fluffin' yet.

We'll see.

(CO: They did a "genetic study" or something of the tumor they removed. I assume that is informing all future decisions, but I have not heard anything specific.)

I will keep my fly up until an updated bucket list has been posted.

Also, have you considered tracking future quotes in a thread called something like "quote posting storage"?

I thought of that strategy, but then I realized...

I don't like that one.
