Because after twenty years of HP books in existence ONE guy is worried about casting "evil spells"

Ben thank you for moving out of that backwards state.

Buy thuh weigh, yew spelt Tennessee worng. I'm not sure if you did that by accident or intentionally for comedic effect — as I did in the previous sentence — to point out the backwardness of the school that did this.

But what can you expect of a religious-oriented school? They begin from an illogical premise and then it's all downhill from there. Besides that, belief that witches and wizards actually have powers or that magic is real are still quite common beliefs even now[*]. The corollary to that, banning Harry Potter, is thus not very far along that crimson path. Or is it "not very far down the garden path"?

[*]Cue Bob Seger's Even Now:
There's a highway
A lonesome stretch of gray
It runs between us
And takes me far away

Out in the distance
Always within reach
There's a crossroad
Where all the victims meet...

And through the darkness
Through all the endless days
Through all the changes...

Through all the doubt
And all the fear
And all that I can't say...

Even now, through all of my days, and all of my nights
Even now, when everything's right, when everything's wrong
It gets to me, somehow
Even now

My boy went to a Catholic school and nobody ever said anything about evil spells. Hell, half the kids there were atheists.

Although I appreciate the sentiment, everything in the Nashville area is better than anything where I currently live in the Cincinnati suburbs. Also, Nashville and Murfreesboro are "blue pockets" in an otherwise state of right-wing yee-haw redneck dickheads. So while I'll admit that the backwater hicks of Tennessee are the worst people in the world, I didn't have to drive by a house every day that had a giant "NEVER FORGET BENGHAZI" banner hoisted above their garage door, with Trump/Pence signs lining the rest of their property. Which I do here, every day. And I'm not making that up.

Also the food was better there.

I guess what I'm trying to say is, Ohio sucks.

That's Cincinnati for you. Or, as KISS calls it, Cincinnatti.

That's because it's the vacuum cleaner capital of the US. The Hoover vacuum company is located in Ohio.

I'm just kidding, I don't know where the "vacuum cleaner capital" is, except Hoover is located in Glenwillow, OH.
