[POLL] Which solo artist most improved on the band they were from?

Post by pinback »

Thanks all, for building the poll! I had to make a few minor cuts from the list, due to the 25-choice limit. If you don't like it, complain to the sysop. For instance, I didn't put George Harrison or Ringo on there, because gimme a fuckin' break.

IIRC when Steve Perry left Journey, they had to hire someone who sounds just like him!
And if anything, I think John Lennon or Paul McCartney were much more important to the Beatles than either George Harrison or Richard Starkey (Ringo Starr's real name.)
Alan Francis wrote a book containing everything men understand about women. It consisted of 100 blank pages.

Yup Steve Perry was replaced by Asian Steve Perry!

Thurston Moore was in the band Sonic Youth. One of the greatest solo albums of all time.. but Jackson takes this poll!

This will be addressed in an upcoming poll about overrated musicians/bands, in which he will be my vote without even thinking about it.

You think Cream and Derek and the Dominoes was better than his solo stuff?

Sell me on it!!!

I don't know any Cream songs except for the two I dislike.

The right answer is Paul Simon and I don't like Paul Simon's music.

I don't know any Clapton solo songs that I don't actively hate, and Crossroads is an all-timer.

You might also be thinking of the wildly unpopular Christian band Cross Roads and the Three Nails, whose broke up when Paul converted them all to atheism after eating their sandwiches.
