I once tried to come up with my own 75 best games or whatever list like you did some years ago. To be honest, I couldn't come up with even 75. I just pulled up what I wrote (just a list of games with no ranking) and I already regret some of my choices.

I guess what I'm saying is, props to you for actually liking that many games that much.

I'm stuck on 81, that's why this hasn't gone any further than just this.

Yeah, it is, actually. I counted 'em all up, and there it was. 100. Bam. Minesweeper.

Minesweeper is a terrible, stupid game so automatically it's not on the list.

Minesweeper is a game you don't understand, and suck very hard at, so automatically you call it terrible and stupid.

Minesweeper is like golf. The only people who say they don't like it are the ones who are horrible at it.

Tiger Woods 2003 (IIRC! I have to double check this) *is* on the list. And I hate golf.

So, no. Quit propping up Minesweeper. Jesus, did you start drinking again? Tell the booze it's not on the fucking list.

Minesweeper's gotten me through some tough jams.

It was supposed to be a clean job, a quick job. In like Flint, bing bang boom, out with the goods, no fuss, no muss. It was me, Minesweeper, and Freecell. Sure, to look at us, we were just a bunch of dregs you wouldn't take a second look at. And most times you'd be right.

But when the job had to be done, every hard-ass fence in the town knew that we were the shit, and you wouldn't want to count on anyone else, unless you wanted your sorry ass popped up to the crib for 20-life.

We were cocky. And as we'd soon find out... too cocky.

Cell never saw the guy, as we came out through the back, guns and mouths blazing. He was waiting for us. We didn't have time to find out what went wrong, just a horrible crack, and Celly hit the floor. The shock pulsed through me, daring me to give in, daring me to give up at the sight of my closest buddy, who I'd spent so many wasted hours at the cube with, lying there in his own guts, choking, sucking sounds filling the room from his mangled face.

Sweep sent me a look. I knew what it meant: we might never get out, but by God, we were going in.

I don't know how many people died that day. A band of cops, no doubt, and scores of bystanders and employees. But I know two who didn't. Me and Sweep.

I got lucky. In the hail of bullets once the feds arrived, I ran out through a new door that had been blasted through the back wall by Cell's weaponpack which Sweep had lit up and tossed in a manic frenzy. That's why I'm able to write this story, a story you won't read in the papers, by the so-called "journalists". No, this is what really happened.

And what really happened was that they got Sweep, and all he had to do to get off scot free was to say the name. To say my name.

That hard-ass motherfucker never budged, no matter what Ho Chi Minh medieval torture shit they threw at him.

Last I heard, he can't eat nothin' what's not pumped through a straw they got hooked up into his nose.

But even that... even that sickly, ungodly paste they're pumping into him now, that's a lot more than they ever got out of him.

Sweep. Is he the 100th best game of all time?

I dunno.

But he's aces in my book.

That was better than any game of Minesweeper. Is that enough to get it in!?!?

As far as I am concerned if the list doesn't include:

1) Far Cry
2) Mr. Do!'s Wild Ride
3) Pirates!

It's not worth doing.

Additionally: there will be 100 posts here before the 100th game is revealed.

Ruin this? You mean, this thread which you started by posting that someday you'd actually post again in the thread, rather than just waiting until you were ready and starting it up? That's what you don't want me to ruin?

FUCK YOU.

The 98th greatest game of all time is:

F-14 Fleet Defender

98. F-14 Fleet Defender
99. Norm Koger's TANKS!
100. Minesweeper.

Are we talking ALL platforms here? Like Nintendo, Sega, Colecovision, Vectrex, Commie64 TRS-80

Actually, I doubt that any games that ran on the TRS-80 would even be NEAR the list. And what about arcade games? Xevious was def'netly up there. As well as Wizard of Wor.
Pumped a lot of quay-monsters into that particular machine.

Since this is YOUR list I guess the content is subjective. But I'm a-watching...

Yes. All systems. I think I've played games on all systems, or at least the important systems. Okay, "most' systems, then.

It would not surprise you to learn that the top seven games are all done in Flash!

Yeah, no, neither of them are on the list.

#100 coming tonight. I will delete every post of Pinback's in this thread so it doesn't confuse people.
