I had this from Netflix for weeks, while the other two movies cycled in and out. I put it off this long because it's over two hours long, and I knew it was going to suck.
But I finally watched it today, so I wouldn't have to look at the damn thing anymore.
It just shows you, sometimes you can really be surprised by a movie that you were certain you weren't going to like.
This, however, was not one of those times. Because it sucked. It was just as bad as Pitch Black, except worse, because there was MORE of it. At least PB was small and tight in scope, taking place on a single planet.
This movie, by contrast, brought bad acting, groan-inducing writing, and fake-looking special effects to a veritable GALAXY worth of ugly planets.
Riddick himself, of course, is always cool to watch. It's just a shame that there's anything else happening in these dumb-ass movies.
The best Riddick movie I can think of would be 20 seconds long, would feature Vin Diesel scowling into the camera for fifteen of those seconds, and then saying, "Had to end sometime," and then cut to end credits.
BAM. **** movie.
