1) How he got back into it
A 66 in the second round got him back into it. A 65 (including seven (!!!) straight birdies from holes 7 - 13) took over the lead. After that, it was just a matter of:
a. Hanging on.
b. Making one of the most legendary shots in Masters history on the 16th hole in the final round.
c. Sinking a 15-footer on the first playoff hole to nail it down.
d. Shoving it back in the face of all those sniveling douchebags who insisted Tiger was "so over".
2) How the other guys choked to allow him to get back into it.
The only other guy who was close, Chris DiMarco, fired a 41 on the back nine in the third round, and while he fought tough on Sunday, couldn't quite make it happen.
Then possibly we could understand why you care about this guy in a wholesome, hetero manner, and why it's not just shameless front running.
He is the greatest golfer of our generation, and a joy to watch. He is also exciting to watch. Also, he says four-letter-words on live TV a lot, which I enjoy immensely.
And that smile? Could melt your heart.
