I cried tears of relief when O.J. got aquitted. Snifff, snifff. I would never rent a Hertz car again if he was found guilty.

Pinback, you don't get affected by the depiction of an innocent man being killed for a murder which he didn't commit?

See, this is the kind of movie I can't take. Pretty well acted, decently written, but not too much style, and stuff just... it just HAPPENS. The movie starts, some things happen, and then the movie ends. We've been told a story, but we haven't been affected viscerally, and we haven't really learned anything about life except, "Damn, everyone in this movie is fucked up."

I'd hesitate to call it "boring", but, it pretty much is. Hiding under the big bright marquee displaying such names as Sean Penn, Clint Eastwood, Tim Robbins, Morpheus, and Oscar Award is a pretty plain ol' murder mystery, with psychological (but uninteresting) undertones.

But I knew it'd be like that, so I can't give it a purely negative review, because it did just what I thought, and it was my fault for renting it.

**1/2.
