I, for one, couldn't stand any of them and that was BEFORE they came out with the retardedly long cuts.

They had to give it all the awards because they spent so much money on it. It was ok, with somewhat better action than the first two (which i thought were ok as well). It lasted way too long with way too many close shots of Elija Wood's blue eyes and way too much homoerotic hugging and platitudes.

Is this an inside joke I'm not privy to? It absolutely WAS Return of the King that won all the dumb awards.

And, while I haven't seen it yet, if it's not about a hundred times better than the first two movies put together, I don't see how any sane person could vote it "best picture of the year".
