Speaking of which....

Robb: did you ever get Dragon's Lair, Dragon's Lair II, Space Ace, Cliff Hanger, Thayer's Quest, and Badlands mpegs found?

If not, uh, does anyone have them?

R.B. - the second B, for Rob"B". This time, I "left off the S, for savings!"

(Geez, that'll sound ridiculous to anyone who hasn't heard a 1-800-Mattres add.)

I screwed up my handle's initials. (No one seems to use the term "handle" any more. I'll be taking a dirt nap before I call it a "screen name.")

The ROMs alone (which I have complete for .72, the current one) are still 5.something gigs. Point being, even if you skips all the chds and the samples and the backgrounds and so on, you still can't fit all the ROMs on a single DVD. (Well, not one that you burn yourself. I suppose if you ran a production house, you could make a dual-layer DVD to hold 'em all.) I do still need to get the Vicious Circle chd (which I expect will be reposted any time now on usenet), then I'll be 100% complete... until .73!!!

Just saying, the irony is that RobB, in public, defends the Neo-Geo, while stabbing it in its overpriced guts in private. Nice guy!

Yes. Anything with a CHD file is going to be huge.

The two Killer Instinct games are 95 and 139 MB. Area 51 and Vicious Circle are 5xx MB, and Maximum Force is 1.2G. War Gods is a comparatively svelte 65 MB.

For comparison, the zipped ROMS of Donkey Kong, a game that kicks the asses of all the preceding so far you can't even see them anymore, come to 22070 bytes.

I may be paraphrasing slightly.

This seems like a good place to put this.

Debaser's "monkey paw" line in the thread I just threw into the Best Of base has me giggling like I was a processor overclocked to run at 1,000 gigglehertz. That guy needs his own base.

by Ice Cream Jonsey » Sat Aug 23, 2003 11:57 am

OK.

I wasn't kidding about liking kitty-cats, however. I feel it important to note that.

Yeah? Well, I was joking too, because I knew you were joking, an--fuck it. I can't do this. I can't lie worth shit.

Wait. I was joking because I knew you were joking. Blas it to hades, JB, don't get all meta on me!

Well, this thread was pretty much a disaster.

Is it enough to turn my love of cats into hate? No. Is it enough to turn my love of all of you into hate? Yes, actually.

Hey, nice of you to log in at some point today and not post "huh huh huh" to the thread, Beavis.

Also: needs more you thinking of children, JB.

I never even knew Zero Wing EXISTED until I heard about AYBABTU. I stiill have yet to play it. not that I'm longing to or anything, Just hasn't come my way.

There was a game for the C=64 called ' Hero of the Golden Talisman'. (BTW this should be in the retro base) and I never finished it. The 51/4 floppy was a copy and it corrupted itself after I was a quarter through the game. Not that I want to finish it, but I would have had it remained playable.

This whole thread was about cats, wasn't it?

I have always unabashedly thought AYB was absolutely fucking hilarious, and used to headbang to it whenever I'd had a few at the local dive I frequented. There.

I got no cred.

Worm wrote:Seriously, the whole AYBBTU shtick is old.
No! You are!
It wasn't horribly funny to people who originally played Zero Wing
...Who the fuck played Zero Wing before that phenomenon came out? You? You, Berscramski? You're telling us you were a Zero Wing fan before Zero Wing blew up?

and the video was the majority of the humor.
Well, sure.

If stupid english in games amazes you so much buy a fucking Neo Geo.
