Jose Bautista has retired as a Toronto Blue Jay

Jose Bautista hit the craziest home run I have seen as a Blue Jays fan in 25+ years, he did it during the single most insane inning of baseball I am aware of. Flack did commentary on it, which I think got in YouTube trouble because the official feed was what he was speaking over.

He played for four teams and was known as a journeyman before he figured out how to unlock the most from his swing. The internet says that he worked with Cito Gaston on this - Cito delivered two world series victories to Toronto and then just lah dee dah took a non-descript player in Bautista and turned him into one of the most feared and productive hitters for a seven year stretch.

And this memory:

He was one of those guys that brought out the worst in other sports fans. Because he was so good for so long and crushed so many teams you can't help but hear submental fans complain about how unlikeable he was - all trash, none of these zeros ever said anything about how "unlikable" he was when he was going from team to team before becoming an MVP candidate each year. He was EXTREMELY likable if you were a Jays fan and is one of our best players in team history.

The first knock off baseball jersey I bought was Jose's and I'll own it forever. He never stopped working and fighting to become the best version of himself that he could be. An inspiration.
