Pitchfork

While in Colorado this past weekend, my brother and I visited our all-time favorite record store. While there, I got a copy of Pitchfork's "Eucalyptus" on CD; I've had it on vinyl for a decade plus, but it's in destroyed condition and I don't think I've listened to it since college. So the reissue was like seeing an old friend, if he got converted to CD format.

Anyway. I went out and had a few drinks tonight (cf thread in Citizen Kane of Nod) and have had a few more since coming home. But. This may have been the most monumental album, ever, and I was just too stupid to appreciate it at 18 or 20 or 22. It's beautiful.

For those who it'll mean something to, this band spanned Drive Like Jehu, Rocket From the Crypt, and the Hot Snakes. For those who it means nothing to, well, tough. Just buy the thing. It's astounding. I need another drink.
