Paul just isn't into actual metal.
I like music that sounds good. That has a meaning (if it has words) or if it's fun. I'm not into rap but The Sugarhill Gang's
Rapper's Delight is so much silly fun that I can quote the entire "bad food" scene from the song from memory, it's that good.
I like most of the music of the '60s, '70s, and '80s, those being my formative years. I like some music from the '50s (the more popular stuff they played on the radio) and then it goes in sort of a "bell curve" for the '50s, '90s, 2000s, and 2010s. Some music I just don't like.
Some I like and I couldn't tell you why. Fall Out Boy's
Thnks Fr Th Mmrs is a fun song. And there are others. And some songs that I like and my brother absolutely hates; one being Paul Starkey's
The Wedding Song and another being Bob Welch's
Sentimental Lady, the latter happens to be one of my two favorite songs, the other being Fleetwood Mac's
Everywherre. The opening trill just blew me away.
This is, of course, all subjective which is why I don't criticize other music unless it is presented to me for an opinion. Some things I will like, some things I won't like, "and what's wrong with that?" as Paul McCartney and Wings sang in
Silly Love Songs,
