What does "open" stand for?

Well, we're almost two full rounds in. Tiger has sucked, but so has everyone else. He's currently at +3, four back of the leaders at -1, and tied for 17th.

Anything could happen.

He hurt his elbow and is wincing after every shot. The last time he was a big ol' crybaby drama queen like this was in 2008... during his last major victory, at the US Open.

Anything could happen.

Phil is a big fat loser.

I'd eat a bullet if I had to watch the U.S. Open.

No homo.

There are no classic snacks or beverages associated with the U.S. Open. Eat and drink normally.

What are we supposed to be drinking for this thread? Or eating?

A couple of weeks ago I woulda been a little more psyched for this, as Tiger had won something like 70% of his starts on tour this year, and everyone was proclaiming he was back and, in some cases, even better than ever. In any case, better than most! BETTER THAN MOST!!!

And then the Memorial happened a week ago and he laid the biggest goddamn turd I can remember, finishing essentially DFL among those who made the cut. Carding a 44 on one particular nine-hole stretch, which even *I* could go out and beat today, and I haven't played for a year.

So it's a mystery.

We have the world's once-again #1-ranked player, who has won four times already this year, when nobody else has won more than once... and yet, because he looked so lost and pathetic a week ago, nobody knows what to think.

This is the 2013 U.S. Open Thread.
