Especially in the early days before each of the members had developed their personae, MCA was definitely the stand out. To me, King Adrock was always "the goof," and Mike D was always "the guy trying too hard to be cool." MCA didn't have to try though -- he was legitimately cool.

I don't like the Beastie Boys at all, but I like when MCA raps, and the fact that he died first is a tragedy.
