I know that when some well-known bands are previewing new material for critics, etc, they will often circulate the recordings on cassette tape to thwart pirating, because it's conveniently lo-fi, and so few people possess the means to make digital copies of a cassette.

You can still buy a cassette recorder!

Can you believe they still sell them, and at roughly the same price as they have been, $29.99. I couldn't believe that there's still a demand for ordinary cassette recorders.
