I don't think it's wrong. I'm just glad that after all this time he's still playing. I mean, I was a freshman in college when he was in his PRIME. He had 123 points the year before and was (and remains) my all-time favorite player. And he's still contributing to a Stanley Cup contender. Christ, the Flyers were idiots to let him go the second time he played for them.

Listening to Becky Nailed Recchi while watching the NHL finals. Is that wrong?

Welp.

So the big idea is to immediately get better in the draft and hope that it suddenly becomes possible to get better in the draft.
I missed this post.

Here is my reaction to this post:

Did I go into a spergspin because of the comparison between hockey and the NBA yet? I know Flack was listing reasons why basketball is better. But I don't know if he included "computer and console games." Should this be a thread? This should be a thread.

yeah, but in basketball the refs don't let them go at it until someone falls down.

When they fight in hockey, don't they get penalties? Same thing happens in basketball!

Some people only like sex for 2-3 minutes. Some people like 50-60 minutes.

Right, because in hockey they average, what, 2-3 points per game or something.

So let me ask you this -- would you rather have 2-3 dollars, or 50-60 dollars? Maybe you would rather have 2-3 bucks, because that would make them more special? Shiz. Give me the $50-60 anyday.

Is the drive to work more special if you do 2-3 mph? Would a boxing match be more special if the boxers only threw 2-3 punches?

IF A CENTIPEDE ONLY HAD 2 LEGS PER SIDE INSTEAD OF 50 IT WOULDN'T BE A CENTIPEDE IT WOULD BE A DOG.

The thing is, a hockey goal is the most exciting thing in sports. In basketball they score goals, what, 50, 60 times a game. All the magic has gone out of it.

The Bulls beat the Hawks tonight, taking a lead in the series 3-2. Chicago led by 6 at the half and won by 12 with a final score of 95-83. A double technical was issued when someone almost hit someone else with an elbow. Where were those calls in the Thunder game?

Yes, Pinback. Let go of your anger ...

Exciting double header tonight, folks!

First up, the Celtics vs. Heat. Miami currently leads the series 2-1. The biggest question of the night will be, how will Rondo shoot with an elbow that apparently bends both ways.

Image

Following that is game four of the Thunder vs. Memphis series. OKC blew an embarrassing 16-point lead in game three; the 8th seeded Grizzlies rallied, tied the game, and ultimately won by 8 in OT. Fingers are being pointed at Russel Westbrook for refusing to pass and throwing up brick after brick. Although benching one of your two All-Star players in the fourth isn't typically a good game plan, it wouldn't have hurt the Thunder. Game four will decide whether the Thunder are a playoff team or not.

I guess they are drafting the players for the All-Star game live, after all:
We spoke with NHL VP of hockey and business development Brendan Shanahan(notes) on Monday night, and he wasn't spilling on the captains' identities; although he did say the respect level for Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby(notes) among his peers "has never been higher" but that the first question from most players was about his recovery from a concussion and availability for the game.
Our full conversation with Shanahan will publish on Tuesday morning, but there were a few bits of news to share about the ASG Fantasy Draft:
• There will be six players (captain, two alternate captains) at two podiums on stage and 36 players seated in the audience. As each one is drafted, they'll come on stage, swap a sport coat for an All-Star jersey and stand behind their new teammates.
• The draft will have 18 rounds. For reasons Shanahan will explain in the interview, both teams must draft their three goalies by the 10th round and all defensemen must be drafted by the 15th round -- leaving six forwards in the final three rounds.
• Which means that there will in fact be a "Mr. Irrelevant" in the NHL All-Star Fantasy Draft: In the end, there will be two players left in the seats, and one will be the official last pick in the draft.

AWESOME. I would re-arrange my schedule to watch that. When is it?
