It was a joke, Paul! You remember jokes!
Excuse me, I did not write that. I think you owe me an apology for associating me with any of Jonsey's writings.
You are an incomprehensible, unreadable bore of a story teller. I maintain two sites you can't get enough of. Eat a dick, dickeater.

Real simple, real short:

Howard Cosell, in his autobiography, said most sports writers are terrible at covering sports news because they don't treat it as news, they're often not educated or truly knowledgeable in the subject, and they're too often fanboys who are too partisan.

You won't get good coverage of any story, about, say, some issue with the government, if all the reporters are unquestioningly following its press releases. We do get reasonably good reporting of sports scandals, because non-sports reporters to the digging for facts. Most everything else in sports, the journalistic talent is sorely lacking.

Let's start small:

You understand there was a "deli" in Cleveland that temporarily changed the spelling of their name to "delly" (in support of their own player) and said they would serve no "Curry" (in reference to a player on the opposing team)?

Let me back up.

Do you know that the Cleveland Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors are currently playing each other in the NBA Finals?

I honestly don't understand the tweet or why RICK hasn't killed himself because of how awful the joke was. Is.

Delicatessens "serve" food. In this case, they've decided not to "serve" "Curry". As a play on words.

Are you genuinely not understanding this, or is this just you doing your "I hate everything" bit?

by Ice Cream Jonsey » Thu Jun 11, 2015 8:21 am

That doesn't make any sense. None at all. You don't "serve" anything in basketball.

Did Reilly think he was watching tennis?

by pinback » Thu Jun 11, 2015 7:19 am

That is the nickname of Cleveland Cavalier "Matthew Dellavedova".

by Ice Cream Jonsey » Thu Jun 11, 2015 6:53 am

Why did he spell it "Delly"?

A curry is a food. A food place serves food. Record stores do not serve food.

I mean, this is dumb. It's got literally nothing to do with curries. It's like if a record store did the same thing.

You want a joke over Twitter for the fact that nobody gave the Cavs a chance and now they're up 2-1? An ACTUAL joke? Fine.

"I haven't seen a finals series this cross-eyed since Stu Scott was calling them." There. You're welcome.

I do not.

I thought it had to do with how Dell Curry is Steph Curry's dad.

Don't turn this around on me. I read the link you provided and I STILL don't get it. What deli serves curry in the first place? This just got even more dumb.

Do you... do you just not understand what he's talking about?

I missed the last couple of games but I caught last night's against Phoenix. All I can say is, wow, today's Phoenix is a far cry from the Phoenix of the past. There was no rising, just the flames. Thunder won by 31, 127-96.

EDIT: Whoops, wrong thread.

Yes, but everyone hates him now.

by pinback » Sun Jan 06, 2013 7:11 pm

I liked his golf novels. I'm sorry, I thought they were funny.

At least he has come to grips with the fact that everyone hates him now.
