I guess they thought that the name of Stephen King would hold up the box office gross. The short story was kind of dumb, I don't know why anyone would want to see that made into a movie.

[TEENSY REVIEW] The Mist

The Mist... the latest offering from Frank Darabont, maker of arguably one of the best, most beloved, flawless films in history, the Shawshank Redemption. A quick check of MRQE indicates that, while perhaps not up to the level of that original classic, this film is still a solid, quality effort.

My anticipation was raised to a fever pitch as we slipped the DVD into the PS3!

After 15 minutes, we grabbed the remote and decided just to fast-forward through the movie just to see the "good parts". 10 minutes later, we were done.

I don't remember being this bewildered by a movie. If you can get through said 15 minutes without either laughing yourself into hysterics due to the unbelievably bad, childish writing, or without grabbing a gun and blowing your head off -- your last thoughts being "how can the same guy who made Shawshank make this, and how could anyone give this a good review with a straight face? -- due to the high school play-level acting, then my hat is off to you.

I don't think I've ever seen (at least, the parts we saw) a worse movie than this.

Fast forwarding to the "good parts" yielded two rewards, one being when giant flying bug creatures start to quietly land on the window, and when they drive under the humungous uber-creature toward the end. Total running time of these two scenes: 3 minutes.

I give those 3 minutes THREE AND A HALF STARS (***1/2).

I give the rest of the movie the GOLDEN BAG OF PUKE, given out only to the very worst, and most disappointing, films.

Unbelievably terrible!!!!!!
