I choo-choo-choose THE THING!

Actually, the Thing is so unpleasant that watching it a second time would be difficult.

The only DVD I purchased that I've yet to watch is Die Hard. The thing is, though, that I used to watch it on free TV whenever it was on. Which was lots! So I've had the disc for several years now but never popped it in.

Brain Damage was just... I don't know. The hummer scene was great, certainly. In fact I think my dad saw it. He was getting his DVD player going with his surround sound unit and wanted to know if I had a DVD he could test it with. Return of the King, Black Adder Season One and Red Dwarf III is apparently all "maggot shit" and he wasn't interested in it at all.

(I can sort of understand for Black Adder, because the first season of anything is bad. But still, in the first episode of Black Adder there is a little scene about how many peasants Black Adder killed. A funnier moment than anything in any series premiere I have not seen! He also accidently cuts the king's fawking head off which is great fun as well.)

So Brain Damage gets selected and he opens the case and goes, "BLOW JOB!?!? THERE'S A BLOW JOB IN THIS?" (One of the chapters is named just that.)

I said, "I dunno. I haven't seen it yet."

I made sure not to watch the movie with him. I was 99% certain that there was no real porn in that movie but rather some poor woman considering such a thing and then having it all go horribly wrong, but still, watching stuff like that with your parents makes me feel ill inside.

Err, yeah. That wuz me.

You weren't even won over by the blowjob scene? C'mon, when was the last time you saw anything remotely that sick?

It's definitely not a gore comedy in the vein of Street Trash, but I thought it was pretty neat and unique in being about the only antidrug monster movie that I can think of. OK, the optical effects haven't aged well, but Elmer was not a bad effect at all.

Well, like I said, you can exchange it for "Zombie" next time you're in town if you like. Or another from my "duplicates" pile.

Maybe it was the cast I didn't like. It... ah... well, I was hoping for another Street Trash "diamond in the rough."
