I think I figured out most of what was going on myself but had some of the particular points explained to me in a conversation. Anyhow, it's a gimmick first-movie-out-of-film-school kind of movie that ended up making me ultimately despise it.

I liked this movie all the way up until I stopped liking it, or, to place the blame where it belongs, until it stopped making any sense whatsoever.

At least Mulholland Drive left you a few clues to piece the thing together. DD just throws a bunch of crap up on the screen and hopes that you'll pick out whatever semi-digested peanuts and corn from it that will make you happy. Well, sorry Charlie, I don't like semi-digested peanuts or corn!

Up until then, though, pretty quirky and interesting.

Donnie Darko: Two and a half stars.
