His Dad died? Ok. I can understand the moroseness now.
It's a pretty great Farrar year, what with the "Slaughter Rule" soundtrack and all the UT re-releases. I still haven't fully embraced the new album, but Farrar is the closest thing I have to a "favorite musician" -- Slobberbone is the only other artist in recent years where I've turned out to buy the thing on the first day -- and I'm confident I'll come around.
He doesn't appear to be playing Atlanta on the tour, though. Fucker.
Also, the new Liz Phair is the HAPPIEST thing she's ever done, and also probably the weakest. But oh my God what an album cover.
