You need you some Ras el Hanout, it's like $30 a pound. It's actually just a mix of spices that have been ground together including:
- cumin
- ginger
- salt
- black pepper
- cinnamon
- coriander seeds
- cayenne
- allspice
- cloves

Doesn't sound amazing when you deconstruct it but ground together it'll do what you need.

Casual Observer wrote: Wed May 26, 2021 9:46 pm Why aren't you people using Ras el Hanout? What kind of Morrocan dish can even be made without Ras el Hanout? Last time i bought Ras el Hanout I swear i wrote the number right but the stupid elephant girl cashier typed it in wrong and i got Ras el Hanout for like 2.99 a pound.
Plot twist: Stupid elephant girl was actually going for 2.99 a pound.

Long ago, I made a conscious decision never to purchase Ras el Hanout, secondarily due to racial bias, but primarily due to I've never heard of it.

I need to break this out again. We have to leave the raisins out, though. SOME people don't like sweet with savory. God.

Made it tonight for my mom and brother. They loved it. Thanks Pinner :-)

My wife made this last week, there was enough to freeze. She made some modifications.

She added an eggplant. It disintegrated. There was no evidence the eggplant was in there. I can't tell if that's good or not.
She added the golden raisins. I don't like sweet and savory things together. This did not harm the dish.
She responds poorly to rice, so she made it with cous cous.

This is on my agenda to make again soon.

I am bumping this because this is the most successful Jolt Country food project I've ever been a part of. Goddamn, Pinner. This was amazing.

That picture was taken with my phone and does not represent me as an artist or a photographer.

The meal DOES represent me as a chef. I kiss things now! Mwa!

The two worst kids that day go without?

Go 'A Modest Proposal', replace the pork with a child...?

Pinback's first name is "Sgt." Other acceptable answers include Bill and Dan.
I get to call him whatever I want, don't forget, since he's a Sergeant and I'm a Commander, I outrank him. So there!
