Now this is ridiculous: Cost of my prescriptions for one month

Post by Tdarcos » Mon Aug 12, 2019 1:34 pm

These are the prescriptions I'm getting in the nursing home which are being charged to Medicare Part D. "Extra Help" is, if I'm not mistaken, a state program to assist those with low incomes. Not sure if it's still from the State of Maryland or (more likely) the Commonwealth of Virginia, but it's money I would not have.

The note went to my address in Maryland, was forwarded.to my sister's place, and she packed up all the mail I got and forwarded it to me. In all cases, the cost to me was zero. Unless indicated "cap" or "cr" all prescriptions are tablet form. So I have the report for June 2019:

Drug     Dosage Time     Medicare  Extra Help

Tamsulosin  0.4mg cap 30       7.00    19.35
Pantoprazole  40mg  30       0.00    12.47

Totals for the month of June, 2019   $567.55   $294.10

I would like to thank the Taxpayers of the United States for paying for the cost of the prescriptions that are keeping me alive. Those of you on Jolt Country who work and pay taxes, thank you for your contribution.

Drug: "Compound drug". Dosage: "unstated".

What could it BE, man?

I haven't the slightest fucking idea. I don't write the report, I just transcribe it (I no longer have my printer so I can't scan and OCR documents any more.

Who can it be now?
Who can it be knocking at my door? (four bangs)
Make no sound
Tiptoe across the floor
If they hear us, they'll knock all day
I'll be trapped, and here I'll have to stay.

Hahah Superman III came to mind for me too! I couldn't think of a good joke though.

When Richard Pryor is tasked with getting some krypton synthesized in a lab, there was an "unknown ingredient". He can't think of one off the top of his head, so he glances at his pack of Camel cigarettes which reads "contains tar" and enters that.
