Tonight! Sam Adams Winter Lager.
Apologies to all those Clean In '19. Not my monkeys not my circus, as they say in Poland. Had a really bad plumbing day and teh beerths hit the spot running.

I was installing the basement sink, which is very overdue, and the drill fell off the countertop and hit the water valve which turned on and sprayed water all over me. "What the fuck!" I shouted while getting soaked. After I turned off the water I saw that my phone case had turned into an ornamental garden pool. As I reached for it in shock and horror I knocked it on the concrete floor, breaking the screen. So soaking down my phone wasn't enough, I also applied blunt force trauma to the thing as well. "Grrrr!" I said.
Then, after hooking up all the lines, the hot water faucet knob came off in my hand and water sprayed all over me for the second time. "What the fuck!" I shouted again as I turned off the water.
That did it. I had a rotten second half of the day. Beer will make it all better though.

mmm, me too, except i only have 2 of that flavor left cause i got the sampler 12 pack. So far the winter lager is my third favorite in the box after Winter Porter and Chocolate Stout. Old Fiziwhig is a bit too sweet and spicy and i can't help myself turning the Boston Lager ones into snakebites with some craft cider.

Almost bought the Sam Winter yesterday. Bought Pabst instead like any other real American that cooks thawed Butterball turkey for holidays.

You must live in a place where what kind of beer you buy matters to the price.

Here in the land of progressive sin taxes (both WA and CA), all sixers of beer cost $8 - 9, all 12'ers cost $13, and cases are mostly $20. It makes not more than $2 difference whether you buy something decent or close to water (Tdarcos, queue your canoe joke) so why not enjoy yourself. My dad is the cheapest fuck I've known and I grew up watching him drink only Beast - even he gets real beer now (and he does the Wegmans cheap turkey deal every time so he's still cheap).

It always used to be Keystone Lite on the bottom of the beer tier, then Genesee a step above that and then Bud. Anything more exotic was just too highfalutin to us low-rent beer swillers. Funny how Sam Adams came along at the head of the craft revolution and upgraded everyone's taste in beers. I used to think Lowenbrau Extra Dark was a 'fancy' beer and Guinness was for snobs but then I started in on the Sam Adams and never looked back. Who cares about the price.

In a not unrelated note, I found a fresh supply of ROC Brewing Lagerithm Lager. Yeah man!

Why is drinking Coors like making love in a canoe?
Because it's fucking close to water!

Sadly, I must once again leave this, our most hallowed thread. Will I be back? Who can tell! (But almost definitely yes.)

For Christmas, I got:

- Bottle of Fireball (small; like, airplane size)
- Bottle of Brandy (medium; like, flask size)
- Bottle of Jack Daniels (large; like, liver transplant size)

Tonight for New Year's Eve I'm driving to the Arkadia Retrocade in Arkansas and taking them all. We'll see what comes home.

Had a drink with elderflower liquor in it last night. I would have called it The Pointless. Might as well have had seltzer with lemon. These bartenders nowadays, they really need to teach them the difference between the serious drinkers and the casual tippler. Nobody drinks for taste. It's all about the buzz. How else am I going to ask about elephants in the washing machine unless the muse is let out? I think there are small elephants in our washer. I had some Buellit rye with dinner. I want to be the one to discover them and get my name in the National Geographic.

that's why i always drink Manhattans when I'm out. Whether the drink costs $8 or $15, at least it's all alcohol.
